From 300 mil to 80 mil, Hoyer is definitely going to keep this approach as long as he's POBO now, as boring as it is as a fan it worked twice this offseason. I'd say the team is now better talent wise than the team last year with Bellinger back, the prospects that will likely come up and the fact that you now have a manager that isn't a complete moron like Ross. Division favorites.

I'm gonna slit my nuts if Peralta or Dom Smith see a single major league AB with the Cubs. Has Hoyer learned nothing from his crap signings from last year? Either sign the big stars or letting the horsefeathers kids play. Stop giving at bats to scrubs.

Doesn't change the fact. The Cubs will have to hand out a 200 mil plus contract eventually even if hoyer is afraid. Just pathetic the Royals beat them to it.

How do you twist me mentioning the Royals outspending the Cubs into your goofy comment? Like I'm clearly complaining the Cubs aren't signing top tier talent the last couple of offseasons. I swear some of you have Hoyers schlong so deeply embedded in your throats and will try to defend him in the silliest of ways. The Royals have outspent the Cubs and that's a fact.

Bellinger had the mutual option for the second year so both parties had to exercise it. Hoskins gets a opt out so it's a 2 year deal unless he leaves after the first. Boras was adamant about getting him that second year, must not be all that confident that he will bounce back the first year.

Boras usually makes his big bucks when teams make a stupid impulse move. Like the rockies did with Bryant. And look how terrible that's playing out, unluckily for boras it seems like no one is playing along with him this year

Moore is one of the guys I was hoping they'd target coming into the offseason, wonder what he's asking for. All those other names mentioned as bullpen targets are underwhelming

I think he's been pretty consistent with his words and actions. Maybe aside from getting more swing and miss strikeout pitchers in the rotation

It seemed like Hoyer was pretty firm when he said he doesn't see the Cubs signing another starting pitcher, unless the deal was too good to pass up. I think near zero chance Snell ends up a Cub because I can't fathom how his market could end up near a place a cubs would pounce at, and with him attached to a QO pick, Hoyer won't want to sacrifice a draft pick giving a guy a 1 year or opt out deal at the cost of that pick.
