I'm even cautious on how much credit I give them for Ben Johnson. I think Ben Johnson just really wanted to work and live in Chicago. It's an amazing area when you're making 14 million a year. He mentioned how his family would come up every summer for a Cubs game and how much he loved the city. I think he also believed he could really work with Caleb Williams and that the raw tools were there for Ben to turn him into a stud. No I don't think he disliked Poles or Warren by any means, so I guess you do have to give him some credit, but I really don't think it's as much as the media and some Bears fans think. I could be totally wrong that's just my read on it.

I think he sympathetic towards a young guy who he feels is still learning on the job. And was too soft to cut him loose after 2 years when it was quite obvious outside of the Caleb Williams trade the guy's done basically nothing. This is the NFL man. You can't have a GM who spends his first 3 Years Learning on the job...

My theory? Kevin Warren thinks of himself as a mentor for Ryan poles, that stuff is really big in the black community. And I think it's something that's as simple as he just didn't want to give up on his mentee this early on. McCaskey probably ate that crap up because he's stupid and here we are. Honestly man I'm so close to saying screw it and just becoming a Shameless bandwagon fan. Call me when the Bears are good and I'll sit down and watch them, but other than that I got to find other stuff to do on Sundays. I've seen way too much crappy football in my life, I'm tired of watching it. If the Bears ever get a QB, then I'll take a look.

My thoughts - I am extremely worried about Caleb Williams, almost to the point where I'm already ready to declare that he is not going to be a top-notch NFL starter, he might not even be average. It's the same problems that Bears fans have seen from their quarterbacks forever. He doesn't see the field, he doesn't get rid of the ball fast enough, and when he finally does make the right read he overthrows the ball or throws it into his receiver's feet. I don't care how good Ben Johnson is those are things you cannot fix at the NFL level. We have seen this movie before, I know what it looks like. I would be stunned at this point if Caleb Williams even kind of lives up to the hype. -Santos is garbage. In the modern NFL you cannot have a kicker who doesn't even have enough leg to hit a 50 yard field goal. - the running back situation is brutal, and the worst part is they knew that going into the offseason and they did absolutely nothing to fix it. Why are we taking Luther burden at 39 when this team still has massive holes at RB? I mean the starting QB can't throw anyways so what's the point of giving him multiple targets? Swift is about as average you get and to have Johnson and a 7th round pick as your backup options is just really bad roster building.
