  1. Yea I guess once they get Varsho back they move Lukes to RF > Barger back to 3b. But I fully suspect a trade to happen there with Varsho's injury history.
  2. That's the Blue Jays current starting 3b? Probably not a good sign for us and Castro
  3. Disclaimer, no one else reporting this yet so could be another Mike miss Edit: Ha Mike, probably getting a block from me moving forwards
  4. It's about that time the SP market starts moving
  5. I like that trade for the Royals. Bergert and Kolek for Fermin when they have Carter Jensen near ready
  6. Some possible competition for Castro.
  7. Heyman just being a mouth piece for the Yankees in the Bednar negotiations
  8. I know Cubs have had “let down” TDL’s in the past, but this is the first time under Jed we are true competitors, combined with the big swing this off-season landing Tucker, I don’t think Jed is going to miss this deadline. Now maybe if you have your heart set on a cost controlled SP, that might not come to fruition and some might consider that a failure. But I expect at the very minimum a Kelly type along with a RH bat
  9. There's the Phillies RH OF bat. 115 wRC+ on the year against LHP
  10. We've been connected to Castro, who has a 131 wRC+ on the year against LHP. He can play every position besides 1b/C. So landing him would give you some options against LHP.
  11. Yep, just get the best SP you can get. If we really want to go into micro details for matchups - Harper/Schwarber/Ohtani/Freeman/Muncy/Soto/Nimmo are all possible playoff matchups. Of course those teams have RH sticks as well, but there's a lot of high level lefty hitters that our LH dominate rotation could hopefully neutralize.
  12. Not meaning to jump into the middle of your guys debate, but the Phillies are hot and heavy after a RH OF bat. Robert Jr, Laureano, etc.
  13. It'll be the ask, unless we are including someone like Cade. I just don't see a world where we get Gore without it feeling like it hurts in terms of what we give up.
  14. He's wild for sure, but he's also traded for Soto, King, Cease, hit the lottery with the Tatis trade, drafted Merrill, traded for Arraez, signed Machado, traded for Darvish, keeps finding these kids that become top prospects, etc. So he has a lot of wins to go along with the big time prospects he's traded off. Probably World Series champs last season if they win game 5 against the Dodgers?
  15. Sorry, didn't mean to imply that it's going to be Murphy/Adley at this point. That's who they were targeting a couple weeks ago when Murphy was thought to be available and there was chatter that Adley was going to be their big swing this TDL. More so was agreeing with you that if we traded a catcher to them, it would be one of Amaya/Kelly as they are looking for an impact catcher for this season/playoff run. (Opposed to a Mo or Reese)
  16. Yea it would be one of those two going back if we were to trade a catcher to them. As they were looking for an impact catcher - Murphy/Adley. I think it would be more likely that we send prospects and they flip those prospects to a third team to acquire a catcher.
  17. Cubs are looking to add a RH bat, they're not going to ship off their current best RH bat...
  18. If the Marlins move Alcantara (His market seems to be heating back up), does that make them less willing to also move Cabrera?
  19. He's not really a fit for us innings wise. Rays have him on an innings limit after his 3rd elbow surgery and have pitched him 5, 4, 2, 2, and 3 innings his last 5 starts. I believe they have him on a hard 150 innings cap, so not a guy we could count on for 9-10 traditional more starts along with playoff work.
  20. I haven’t seen a return yet
