  1. We just don’t know the extent of the injury. I think if it was something that could be healed in 10ish days and it’s truly bothering him, they would have absolutely put him on the IL. For example, William Contreras is playing through a fractured finger. They said it’s either play through the pain or he would need to be shut down for 2-3 months for it to truly heal. We likely won’t know until after the season what’s really going on, similar to last season when Dansby had a sports hernia and Nico’s flexor tendon issue.
  2. Alright Ben, I feel like this is when you traditional spiral (soft contact leading to pitching from the stretch). Let’s get through this
  3. Did WSH say “no take backs”? In all seriousness, if the velo being down the past few starts is a result of his shoulder and not arm slot changes/shape, that’s pretty rough. Everyone was questioning the drop in velo, so the Cubs had to be assured he was all good right? Right??
  4. As long as we get this close to this guy moving forwards, he'll be a solid get: As pointed out, fastball velo today will be something to monitor.
  5. Just needed that old man strength to get it through the wind
  6. They mentioned during the broadcast yesterday he’s been dealing with a finger injury for awhile now. I guess hitting something like .210 since. So the good news is Tucker doesn’t suddenly stink. The bad news is we don’t know what the injury is or how long it will impact him. William Contreras has played through a fractured finger all year and you can see how much it’s impacted his bat
  7. Don’t love that Tucker has resorted to bunting. Rolling over to 1b accomplishes the same thing
  8. They called up Henderson to take Mis’s spot. 1.71 era in 4 starts this season:
  9. I've been wondering about Long, instead of Alcantara. Seems like the more ready big league hitter. We get 2 extra roster spots right? (So one additional bench and 1 arm). Let's say they keep Turner for his veteran leadership, they could throw out a righty lineup against LHP looking like: Suzuki - Castro - Tucker Shaw - Dansby - Hoerner - Long - Kelly Turner Now, probably some arguments to be made if Long (Alcantara) are big league ready enough to take ABs away from Busch against lefties in general (Likely not) or if a RH batting Happ should start in LF and Suzuki just DH over Turner (Probably starting Happ TBH). CC would have options anyways against LHP. Edit: I realized you're probably talking about playoff roster and I'm talking about regular season once rosters increase in Sept. Which in theory, should help CC determine the playoff bench.
  10. Jed, I know you're reading this thread. This is me once again reminding you that upper end controlled SP, either at the TDL or in the winter, is extremely expensive in terms of prospect capital. As in, we should not be surprised at the unreasonable ask that's going to happen this upcoming winter and next TDL. Let's say if we don't sign Tucker, lets go ahead and direct those funds towards a Valdez/Suarez/Cease/King/etc. And next TDL (barring major injuries), maybe all we need is a few bats (Cheap at the deadline) and BP help.
