  1. Wow A’s making noise this off-
  2. Haven't followed this account before, seems to have been correct the past couple of days. Don't know if he's been piggybacking off of others or has legit info. TIFWIW
  3. My dynasty fantasy team that has Paredes got a lot better today.
  4. Castellanos is a complete money dump. Owed 2 years $40m. They're attaching him to Bohm to get from out under that contract and want more flexbility at DH and better OFers. Suzuki would not be going back. I don't know what it would look like prospect wise, but Bellinger makes a lot of sense for what they need and unloading Castellanos makes a lot of sense for them. And then it opens up 3b for lets say Bregman for them.
  5. Framework of Bellinger for Bohm/Castellanos is a wash money wise. I know we're trying to spend Bellinger's $$$ elsewhere, but trading for a cost controlled SP is still on the table at some point.
  6. "There’s been a mix of if Castellanos in this discussion (possible Chicago reunion)"
  7. I saw that as well. That twitter has been correct before, but also spews a lot of possible deals. Very interesting if the Cubs are truely interested in Bohm
  8. Haha someone is feeling a little bit salty -
  9. I would like Polanco's bat upside better, but man he would scare me to death as the everyday 3b. I just don't know how we could feel comfortable with this guy at 3b who has around 20 starts there in his MLB career:
  10. Paredes $6.2m 3.1 fWAR proj Bellinger $27.5m 2.1 fWAR proj Out $26.7m (33.7m - eating $7m of Bellinger's contract) Kyle Tucker $16.7m 5.5 fWAR proj + $10mish to spend Thoughts on Josh Rojas as the stopgap at 3b until Shaw forces his way on the club? 1.9 fWAR last season (Defensive guy) and can move to the super utility guy (Mainly played 3b last season, with starts at 2b, LF, and 1b) if Shaw forces his way on the big league club. How close is the $10mish that we net above to being his value?
  11. They want to compete next year, but they also want to restock their farm. Paredes + prospects helps with both.
  12. Who also represents Dansby
  13. I had this account blocked. Are we sure it’s not just going for clicks? Here’s some of their other tweets for reference:
  14. We can’t have our cake and eat it too. We’ve all bitched and moaned over the past handful of seasons over the Cubs not having a true difference maker superstar bat. Tucker currently has the 5th best odds to be the AL mvp next season. The Cubs are in a spot to win the NLC, Tucker helps get us over the hump. If it’s not now, when? And who? Yea it sucks he’s most likely going to walk after next season, but damn, I want at least a punchers chance to make some noise in the playoffs. We can’t just sit around and wait for the next crop of young guys when we have a core of solid cost controlled players in their prime right now.
  15. Kind of hard to trade for a FA
  16. Also, could be very noteworthy if true, some chatter that Warren was a piece the Astros might want back for Tucker....
  17. There was this who others pointed out has a connected following ("Eno Saris, Jim Passan, Paul Sporer, Marc Craig and a bunch of others."). Also, no one has refuted the ask/reporting. What is most likely the case imo is that was the Astros initial "shoot the moon" ask and Jed said hell no.
  18. Some notes from Heyman's live steam (Nothing really new) Bellinger - Cubs/Yankess made a 'bit of progress' Tucker - Cubs favorites, ask is Paredes & Suzuki & one of Shaw/Smith Alonso - “I throw the Cubs in the mix for Alonso. They’ve long been rumored to be interested in him.” Just for the fun of it, I wanted to see what a scenario looked like if Jed goes mad scientist and meets the Astros demands (Logic says absolutely won't happen). Out Bellinger $27.5m ($26.6m AAV) Streamer Proj 2.1 fWAR Paredes $6.2m Proj 3.1 fWAR Suzuki $19m ($17m AAV) Proj 2.2 fWAR $52.7m 7.4 fWAR Proj In Tucker $16.7m Proj 5.5 fWAR Alonso $25m (5/$125m CS & MLBTR 5/$125m) Proj 2.6 fWAR $41.7m 8.1 fWAR Proj Elephants in the room - Who plays 3b? What does Bellinger's return look like and how much $$$ are the Cubs eating?
