  1. .
  2. Dub. Fun one today. Nice to get to Bobby Miller and take game 1.
  3. It was the right decision to start the season. He performed well last year. When Steele and Tailon get back, maybe you look at how Assad and Hendricks have performed and reevaluate that fifth spot. But I'm not sure i'm digging his grave after 2 starts against the Rangers and Dodgers either.
  4. Ben Brown looked good. Good offense. Sweeps are pretty sweet. 4-2.
  5. Yah I think they just want to start him because of the matchups. Just treat it like a regular bullpen appearance. But that doesn't mean he couldn't go into the 2nd if he has a strong 1st. I'd be surprised if he pitches all the way through both innings.
  6. If we're gonna need a spot starter for a month I think I'm more interested in trying the Ben Brown experiment then taking Smyly out of the bullpen. But I'd rather just see Horton.
  7. Hitting it hard. Lets go Cubs. Lets go Illini.
  8. That's really silly. He was definitely disappointing last year, even with the solid 2nd half. But he's absolutely a better bet to perform well going forward then the Assads and Smylys of the world. Get a grip.
  9. I don't think PCA going down is a surprise at all. They've still got stuff then want him to work on and I thought he was a long shot for OD. The Happ issues were never going to impact him much at all. They weren't going to start him for a couple weeks and move him to the bench. He'll come up if/when they are satisfied or a more serious injury occurs.
  10. I'm sure the starting experiment will continue for a bit. It's not like they can't still bring him up and pitch him out of the bullpen if needed.
  11. You're not allowed to watch the regular season.
  12. Good. I hope everybody goes after him.
  13. Yah. It's a bummer they don't seem interested in adding more. I know we've got some guys ready to start knocking on the door but I'd happily take the risk of that contract. Wonder if Montgomery will settle for something similar.
  14. Another Cubs player lost one in the sun too. Looks like it was tough out there. Certainly not anything I'd be concerned about.
  15. Caissie is fun.
  16. Spring Training means very little and I think he's probably pretty much a gimme to make the opening day roster. But if he's garbage out of the bullpen I hope they don't wait to long to jettison him just because he's making some money. They've got much more interesting arms.
  17. That'd be gross.
  18. Naw. If he has another 4 win season this year someone will give him more then 50 mil guaranteed going forward. Probably atleast double that. He'll absolutely opt out.
  19. I think all he really needs to do is not be terrible the next two years. If he can find another great season in either of those two he probably still gets a chance at another contract at 100 mil or over.
