  1. I'm voting the same, and my examples are the New England Revolution and the Orlando Magic.
  2. keep pushing his price down and removing teams from the running id like the a's to sign him
  3. bret will either hit 290/360/500 for the cardinals or be out of baseball next year
  4. seconded i think tim mightve given me moderator status so ill go ahead and try to do it now EDIT i was wrong, he still hasnt done it
  5. Are you also suggesting that the Crash Test Dummies perform the 7th inning stretch? god i hope so long live ctd
  6. somebody pm me and explain the teeth thing, i feel like a big dork
  7. I don't think suggesting that Hendry is going to consider trading for Games is very realistic at all.
  8. INTERESTING PERSPECTIVE maybe we should hate everyone who signs with the cubs. they're all selfish. they see the cubs as the place to go to get PAID. anyone who wants to win will take less money and go elsewhere because they know the cubs are going to waste all their money and finish in 4th forever.
  9. fixed
  10. vegas vegas vegas vegas vegas
  11. weaker conferences such as "i just found this place when i was bored and googling stuff about the cubs" should still have an automatic bid. hook me up plz
  12. If we go with that lineup, the RF is really going to need to be somebody who's going to hit 40 home runs, and that's going to mean this lineup is going to be really, really expensive.
  13. I'm not quoting anyone so as to avoid making it seem like I'm directing this at anyone in particular, but I seem to remember a lot of people saying it was unfair to evaluate the Scott Eyre deal until it was over. Now there are people saying that it's unfair to evaluate the Matt Lawton deal in retrospect. It's probably a bad sign if you have to go back and forth on this kind of thing in order to make your gm look competent in the least.
  14. my parents are sadistic EDIT: i forgot to add, i started liking the cubs cause i watched them on wgn during the summer and stuff. the first part there was unrelated.
  15. one step closer to finding a way to keep the cubs from finishing 6th
  16. If we have to say that after every signing (and we have), I don't think it's true anymore. What about it isn't true? They signed Neifi for pretty much the same amount he got paid last year, Rusch for a slight raise and Eyre and Dempster combined can't be much (if any) more than Remmy and Hawkins. That still leaves at least the Nomar, Burnitz and Sosa money to burn. If we give everybody a little bit more than we need to, it adds up and becomes a lot in a hurry. Suddenly we won't have so much money.

  18. i cant believe hendry did something dumb.
  19. exactly, he was going to be pretty much free next year anyway.
  20. I thought for sure you were going to say the Festivus pole. i really should have. dang it. the f the pole eece thing is really something that nobody probably thought was funny besides me.
  21. so pujols wins mvp because sometimes lee throws sunflower seeds at the pitcher, causing him to pitch badly? and lee loses mvp because sometimes the pitcher is on the mound and he gets sad or something and pujols comes over and tells him a joke and makes him happy? wait, screw it, neifi should've won mvp, he talks to the pitchers more than anyone I don't know. Why do YOU think that Pujols won? because they only like to vote for guys who make the playoffs im pretty sure that the bizarre cracker factory scenario makes no sense at all.

  23. If Abreu is being considered for CF, I think Dunn should be as well.
  24. larry: kerry, i know how to teach you perfect mechanics. i think i will do so now. kerry: no, larry, i am too lazy. i just want to collect my paychecks and go to my mansion. larry: but kerry, unless i reveal this magical secret to you, you'll just keep getting hurt. kerry: im too stubborn. also, i think getting hurt and then rehabbing is fun.
  25. im voting for the pole eece wait, nevermind, f them
