  6. just think, by 2009 he'll be throwing 107 mph
  7. Why? A prospect who can't be traded has only one way of helping a team, and that is by becoming a good major league player. If a prospect can't be traded, I'd estimate 25-40% of his value to the team disappears. that's actually a really good point.
  8. It's a bit ridiculous to even count the Panthers game against the Saints. In all of my calculations on the Bears, I leave out your loss to Green Bay. We played our starters on both sides of the ball for only one series during that game. Second, the Saints ARE a hot team, aside from the oddity that was the Redskins game. That game was an anomaly that shouldn't have occurred, just like the Bears nearly getting beat by Tampa Bay. Last week the Saints did beat the truly hottest team in the country, the Eagles. A few weeks before they beat the playoff-bound Cowboys by 25 points and beat the playoff Giants by 23 points. Our last 3 victories were against teams that were better than your last 3 teams you beat. Eagles > Seahawks = Margin of victory even. Giants > Lions = Saints - 23 pts. Bears - 5 pts Cowboys > Vikings = Saints - 25 pts. Bears - 3 pts but the bears are stumbling and inconsistent and rex is drunk during the games, so comparing yourself to them only proves that youre not the worst team in the league.
  9. dont move it i want to watch
  10. YES YES YES "angel pagan just flew out to some guy in right"
  11. so which is it? do steroids decrease the length of your career or extend it? yesyesyes. if a player can't stay healthy, people say the steroids killed him. if a player never gets hurt, they say the steroids make him super strong. it seems unlikely that both would be true. Seems quite likely that not all users are taking the same thing, and not all bodies respond exactly the same way. "Steroids", in the general sense, can lead to your body breaking down, but they can also help you recover from normal wear and tear, and prolong your peak. so if steroids could be doing either, why does it make sense to try to use a players longevity or inability to stay healthy as evidence for steroid use?

  14. good news, mcbride is up to a .333. fg% 3 out of every 1000 shots? That's terrible, even for McBride. oh what a hellacious world this is, what with our feeble minds being incapable of reading things in any way besides a completely literal sense if only our brains were capable of context

  16. I didn't think ARam loved the Cubs enough to throw 20-30 mil in the trash either. Give him 6/96. Give him it right now. I could see him accepting 6/100-110 (18 mil/year). I think anything under 100 mil is too low, even for Z who I believe loves the Cubs. Offering 6/96 would be worth a try though. :) it's very possible that we've seen the best of z and he's just going to run himself into the ground here in the coming years. 6 years is an awfully long time. the cubs should really try to take a more money/fewer years approach here.
  17. didnt barry say once that boston was a racist town and he'd never play there?
  18. gordon: 282/364/511 teahen: 283/357/475
  19. interesting fact: if you're like me and think the bears have no chance of winning, the week doesn't go by slowly and you don't have to be nervous all the time. kind of sucks for other reasons though : (
  20. That's exactly what I thought after seeing the replay. Can't believe it wasn't reviewed. didnt look even close to me
