  1. that throw was ridiculously perfect. barney is officially the kid playing on a little league team that is so much better than his teammates that they can't anticipate what he is going to do and they are constantly out of position and just generally screwing things up.
  2. i like how the camera zoomed in to show what a garbage straightball that pitch braun got to hit was.

Just admit you have no clue what you're talking about. i have moved firmly into the "cc is a lousy troll" camp.
  4. HARRIS WATCHES BURN NOTICE
  5. Over 600 PA's, that is 180 K's. It would take a .357 BABIP to hit .250. To answer the question, I think it's possible. He clearly sees enough pitches to draw quite a few walks over a full season. Being a plus defender would certainly help. I don't think he'll ever hit .250, but that doesn't mean he can't start, either. he'd only need a .357 babip to hit .250 if you assume he's going to hit zero home runs
  6. how can you guys not like the bengals, susanna hoffs is awesome
  7. I'm not convinced that his intellectual prowess extended much beyond the statistical/baseball analytics realm. His statistical analyses were pretty sweet, though. He made me a believer on Khalil Greene. That one didn't turn out so well. Or J.R. Towels. khalil greene was legitimately good for a few years in san diego. a lot of people on here liked him, and for good reason. Yeah, I was definitely on board with the Greene idea. I thought that if he got out of Petco he'd be able to be really good and I was ticked when the Cardinals traded for him. Did not expect him to flame out as spectacularly as he did; didn't he have serious anxiety issues? you'd have anxiety issues too if you had to sit around wondering what your pillow gifts were going to be your whole life
  8. "why, no, i do not have an answer for when i think this team will be any good. what a silly question."
  9. DO IT
  10. you had me at always bet on black
  11. We just got over excited from a bunch of last minute talk. Before all of last nights dugout man love, many were beginning to accept that we'd probably send Dempster to the Dodgers at their price and maybe a few PTBNL for guys like Johnson and Camp. We got 2 top 100 prospects and have up 2 guys we pulled off the scrap heap, 1 non tender candidate, and 2 months of Dempster. No, we didn't get 2 Top 100 prospects. Yes, we did. Vizcaino and Villanueva were both BA top 100 vizcaino obviously doesn't count since his elbow exploded. i'm happy to have him, but he's got a lot to do before he's a top100 guy again. the third baseman we got looks interesting. the pitcher looks like a classic "no stuff, dominate with control at low levels, get destroyed at higher levels" guy. overall, a huge step down from Delgado. go to hell, dempster.
  12. no way, anytime he tweets we should change the thread title
  13. i love you geo, doubly so if you somehow net us something of worth.
  14. also ineligible by way of it has already been decided that trout and harper are going to win because it is a good story for the crazy young guys to win together and usher in the new generation or w/e
  15. i'm not going to lie, i couldn't root against the fat italian guy in the bucket hat. he stuck the tip of his tongue out like thirty times! wasn't he just kissing the bead? yes but it looked crazy pervy maybe he thought the string was a piece of spaghetti

  17. Also from that blog post... so theo hatched a lousy plan and told all the other teams what it was. seems reasonable.
  18. Never forget the Ryan Flaherty/Jeff Baker platoon that would put up a similar WAR to Aramis. i'm sure kyle hilariously switched to some opposing view immediately after that though. aw shucks what a trixter
  19. Ramirez. I know it's a drop in the bucket as far as correcting your posts, but come on man. Seriously you don't know who that is because of an "e". i think you don't know how to type because of e (that stuff is bad for your brain)
  20. It is an opportunity for them, and it seems like if the kids see it that way, they're qualified as adults to make the decision to seek another school out without being bombarded by people who are stalking them. The coaching camp-out is extremely creepy regardless of circumstance. hahahah, yeah, that how college recruiting works, the coaches all just assume the recruits are qualified to make their own decisions and leave them alone.
  21. "poaching" feels like a weird term to use here. the methods are questionable, but these kids are being given an opportunity to play for a non-horribly disgraced disaster school. this is really good for them.
  22. yes, the leak sucks for him because he wanted to be a jerk and publicly say he would do whatever was best for the team while privately refusing to go anywhere but LA. i really don't know why he thought he would be able to pull all of that off though.
