  1. that is a very specific set of requirements
  2. valbuena doing well is like the coolest looking player in the league
  3. strike one to valbuena looked way outside
  4. YOUR LEAD IS AS FAR AS YOU CAN STRETCH WHILE TOUCHING FIRST, BONNY
  5. i hope jackson throws at morton in retaliation for that curveball
  6. that was a really good throw by castillo
  7. i would just like to point out that i thought something was up last inning.
  8. ball one to mccutchen was way better than strike three to castro
  9. castillo seemed kind of like he was taking care to get in between marte and jackson very quickly there
  10. i can't remember anyone ever having a streak like this. bonny could easily have been picked off three times out of five times on base.
  11. they should call it bonny's beverage depot because we all drink to him
  12. no need, i'm going to take a picture of my tv and post it in this thread every 3 seconds
  13. well, this is certainly a different angle the ricketts are taking here. we'll see how it goes, but i'm kind of afraid that this will be something that makes the smart minority like them more and give the dumb majority meatball fuel.
  14. i was at a tgi fridays because my friend had a coupon. the trade was better than the wings.
  15. from jonah keri's big 2014 mlb predictions column: i was pretty surprised to read this and thought most people regarded rizzo highly going forward and assumed cashner would just get hurt. does keri's sentiment there reflect the smart guy conventional wisdom?
  16. Consistently? I hope I am, but I think most of the time he'll be hovering below 2. Certainly could be a lot worse, but I think he's just too vulnerable against LH pitching and not damaging enough against RH pitching. I know it seems like most here hate BR's defensive metrics, but I was thinking of their 2012 rating for him when I said that. I don't think he'll regularly be ranked that high, but I think his defense is more likely than his offense to sharpen up at this point. go read all that stuff North posted a while back about rizzo again. i think there's a lot of reason to think anthony ends up a solidly above average offensive first baseman. castro i have no idea how what to think he'll do going forward.
  17. i am treymon welcome to gam thread the cubs sucked in game 1, but even bad game 1 is better than the day off after game 1. i hate it so much. doubly so when we didn't score a run in the first game. also, there was a lot of talk in gam thread for game 1 that no one would be paying attention to gam thread starting with game 2. NOT ON MY WATCH YOU JACKALS. everyone should pledge a number of posts they plan to make in this thread so that we can be assured gam thread 2 is even better than gam thread 1. in conclusion, edwin is going to have a good year so that will start now. hopefully the cubs can get him a run or two.
  18. i want you to make a super team but keep bonaficio at leadoff and make gifs of your reactions to him getting picked off over and over again
  19. you guys are all fair weather fans http://engagingevents.s3.amazonaws.com/images/assets/Believe_bracelet.jpg
  20. i got a sweet alert on my phone that the game was over about 10 seconds before i saw the home run on tv. good times.
  21. there's like an 80% chance carly gives it up this inning
