  1. if we're going to send the runners on 3-2 with guys like olt up, we need to have a talk with everyone on the team to let them know this is basically a straight steal. no looking back or dicking around or anything like that. run for your life.
  2. And failing pretty badly. As usual, I'm winning. abuck's got the right idea in trying to be wittier without trying to be smarter. It's most of you's only hope. Is this what you tell yourself every morning to get yourself out of bed? if you have to talk to it, don't quote it.
  3. i thought hamilton was supposed to steal second every time the base was open.
  4. that was a great swing of emotion come on get out . . . [expletive] . . . hurray!
  5. if bryant's not going to be able to stick at third base anyway can he please put on like 30 pounds of muscle. i want a giant hitmonster on our team.
  6. ruggiano needs to explain to the umpire there that he's actually just made at himself for being terrible
  7. he swung at a bad ball on 2-0, i almost wonder if it was a punitive thing
  8. I'm skeptical. I respect that. Im just positing that the moves that Rick made in that cardinals game last Friday where made on purpose and with the goal of improving the cubs chances to win the game. And because of that, and in my opinion there really isn’t any ambiguity left, he cannot be anything but a bad manager. He actually was quoted after Friday's game saying that one of the bunts (cant remember which one) was made to lower our chance of winning. I think it was some long con he was pulling. he's trying to light a fire under our boys by giving them a common enemy (himself)
  9. this was in little big league, guys. billy heywood settled the issue.
  10. because it might be jay that he shoots
  11. if he's 100% fine why doesnt he play today door on the iron lung is stuck
  12. len and jd are dressed up for the game tonight
  13. also, it was really awkward during the sign-off when len just didn't mention the second game coming up this afternoon since it wasn't on csn.
  14. tanaka struck out 10 and gave up two bunt singles in 8 innings. yeah, the cubs suck often, but he destroyed us.
  15. FUN FACT the cubs have lost at least 87 games every year since 2010 (and very likely will again this year) here are the last four times the cardinals lost at least 87 games: 1997 1990 1980 1978
  16. My best guess? 2016 or 2017, depending on how lucky we get with pitching injuries. Yeah, I won't argue that. Although I could see playoffs next year with a few things going right. But I think we'll have a long run of success, but so will the Cards and Pirates. My prediction is 8 playoff appearances out of 10, starting in 2016. even if you think everything is setting up perfectly for a run starting in 2016, predicting success in 2025 is just straight nonsense. i understand the desire to do so, given how many years we are punting, but it's not even close to reasonable.
  17. last year, his fip and xfip were fine. this year, he's made three starts. early indications aren't great, but there's still reason to think we aren't going to be cutting this guy in two months.
  18. us and the trailblazers #fthehaters
  19. anytime we go to st louis and win the first game i am instantly thrilled we didn't get swept
  20. let's have ricky not do anything offensively except pinch hit for the next five days and see if he learns anything
