    I don't doubt that especially given Baez recent bouts of churlish behavior. I am so on the Bryant bandwagon. as bryant's stock rises and baez's stands still, the urge to just group these guys together and wait to bring them both up until after the super-two cutoff next year is only going to rise. we're not trying/going to win next year anyway.

    LOL Baez will put up a line like .080/.120/.500 in his first 50 MLB PAs. Baez does whatever the [expletive] he wants including putting up impossible BA/SLG ratios. He'll be the only person in baseball history to average 6 TB/H. I really want to see Brian McCann's face as he rounds home. it will pretty awesome on the days when doing what the [expletive] he wants includes playing matball

    maybe this is just me, but i like len and jd enough that it is pretty much preferable when they mostly ignore the game and just talk about other things. i wish it happened more.

    baez is not one of the top five hitters in the organization today. he's still doing that thing where he forgets how to hit when he starts a new level. if you put him in chicago today he'd hit like .075 (but the only hits would be home runs, so that would be kind of cool).

    yeah, if we're getting an A-ball guy i'd rather just hold onto him on the off-chance we accidentally re-sign him or someone offers something better down the line. doubly so if we're going to stupidly try to limit ourselves to the teams that happen to have catcher prospects. Yeah, though one of the most depressing parts seems to be that Samardzija simply wants out no matter what because he recognizes the Everlasting Turd surrounding him. that's a very good point. he has a lot of reason to want out unless we not only pay properly but overpay, and that's unquestionably his right. he's given us the best years of his career and we've done [expletive] all with them. hopefully if that is the case, the front office recognizes it and ignores everything i've posted in this thread and trades him at the earliest opportunity.
