  1. Only in Mark Grace's wildest dreams was he a left handed Derrek Lee. yeah, gracie had marginally better power.
  2. for anyone who cares, toe nash was in prison as of one year ago. what a waste of talent.
  3. his real name is Exavier Prente Logan Odd spelling of Xavier. I don't really like it. Nook's better. logan wasn't that super-talented wunderkind with size 20 feet out of louisiana or mississippi or florida or whatever, was he? i know he had a weird name like that. couldn't keep out of trouble or something. whatever, i have no idea what i'm talking about. I think that was Toe Nash Toe. Somebody named their kid Toe. Wow. I've actually heard of him, not sure where though. no, nobody named their kid toe. it was a nickname due to his gigantic feet. his real name is greg, what a crazy name.

  6. That's what I am hoping for-let's get over half their bullpen in the game tonight, and then they won't have as many available when Redding pitches tomorrow. That was just 37 pitches by Traber in the last inning-he can't last much longer if at all. I'm also hoping for a complete game from Lilly. That would give everyone in our pen except Marmol two days of rest. That would be great but he's already at 60 pitches But I guess if he keeps doing what he is doing they can't take him out can they.................. shhhhh

  8. theriot is not an everyday player. i like him, but his bat is not suited for even 250 pa's per season.
  9. if he can sustain a good average on early count swings, i'm all for it. i don't mind him swinging on the first pitch at all. i just can't stand it when he makes up his mind to swing before the pitch is thrown, that bugs me.
  10. still, he won't be able to be an effective hitter long term if he's afraid to strike out looking.
  11. the funny thing is that most everyone in the city of seattle was dying to get dusty baker after lou left. i was surprised they passed over mclaren that year as well.
  12. According to the probables, Micah Bowie pitches on Tuesday. thanks, i must have heard that wrong.
  13. i thought mike kablooie was pitching for the nats.
  14. Which is interesting, because Seattle is the type of team that I thought you couldn't stand Sulley. They swing early and try to put everything into play. They are last in the majors in walks and strikeouts while being middle of the league in stolen bases. Is that the result of the team being built completely differently than Hargrove wants? but his cleveland teams were the most patient teams that ever existed, pretty much. as a major league manager, with already developed players, i guess playing to players' strengths is more advisable than not. they could be more patient, but it seems to be working for them.
  15. isn't hargrove a pretty large man in regards to his belly? i absolutely love hargrove as a manager. he's got a great philosophy. that's stunning news.
  16. yeah, but this performance today better not get him any more unnecessary playing time. theriot is not an everyday player in any s4ense of the word. As long as he's hitting, he should start, but once he stops hitting, bench him for a while. i don't think he should be "benched", but i don't think he should play every day either, even if he's had a good game the day before. i don't mind him at short, but if derosa can play there everyday, he should start. his bat is too valuable.
  17. I was thinking the exact same thing. great minds think alike.

  19. marmol's stuff was so gross today, fielder and hall just had no chance at all and hardy always gets lucky against us. he looked a bit like k-rod out there.
  20. noah seems to me like a big, less-skilled version of nocioni. a good guy to have a round but nothing more than a good role player. i like his energy and he's bound to have an effect on an opposing team--so at least we have that.
  21. because he made a couple of errors? Yes, Jim Hendry said (on a Score interview a few days ago) that they didn't consider bringing him up until he improved his defense. he's been nothing special on defense, but he hasn't been that bad. besides, the cubs haven't had a problem with defense this season, although that will almost assuredly get blamed if they fall short of the playoffs. I don't think he'll be blamed but he has 3 errors in 3 weeks. i'm not saying HIS defense, but defense in general.
