  1. i don't think braun has made an out against us yet this year.
  2. Because JIm Hendry won't admit a mistake. Ever. not really, who would take him? hendry made a mistake signing him at all. Um DFA them. If Oakland can afford to do it, so can we. let's knock off this sarcastic crap, shall we? I am not joking, why not DFA the holy trinity of crap? i was referring to the "um", no one was insulting you or anything.
  3. Right, if you really believe that guys like Estrada, Hardy, Jenkins, Hart will continue to way outpeform their career numbers. I think they come back to the pack in the second half big time. Hell even Prince Fielder is having a career year. hart and hardy are young and haven't really established "career numbers" yet so it's impossible to say if they're outperforming or not. estrada isn't outperforming and jenkins only hits against righties, which is his strong suit. So Hardy is the next Arod at SS. Hell, even Brewers fans think he is playing way over his head. Scott Eyre is horrible. someone got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, eh?

  6. the brewers are very good.

  8. baseball doesn't rely on a team mentality.
  9. fielder gets one off the end of the bat, high and into a heavy gale and it's off the top of the wall. we have no one on this team capable of something like that. brewers are winning the division, and they deserve it.
  10. it's the brewers day today. evrything for them is falling, nothing for the cubs. after yesterday, i can't begrudge them better fortune.
  11. no offense to the cubs, they have a pretty good team, but they're going to have a better shot at the WC. this brewer team is unstoppable offensively.
  12. i know bowen is slumping over the ;ast few games, but i feel more comfortable with him starting consistently.
  13. largely, i think there's that perception among baseball fans becaue they feel that only they can understand the subtle nuances of the game. the feeling that, since baseball is a game of such subtlety and precision, that every moment counts moreso in baseball than in any other sport when nothing could be farther from the truth. baseball games are boring, they're long, and many times they just suck. baseball is still my favorite game, but not because i think it's the greatest game ever or that there's some sort of real magic and mystique surrounding it. i like it because my background is in psychology and statistics and i think quantifying human behavior is the quest for understanding the human mind. i see a lot of this in baseball, more than any other sport, there's enough of a sample size to really delve down deep to find out what really makes the game tick. when you do this in respect to baseball, you find that the game isn't a game of nuance and subtle complexity, but a game of common sense. the teams that win year after year understand this. the teams that don't win, curse their inability to execute the inane, nonsensical fundamentals of the game--and that becomes the scapegoat for a poor season, EVERY single time. find me a team that loses and doesn't blame their poor results on a lack of fundamentals and i'll buy you a coke. i love how the game drives me completely insane for a few hours and causes me to believe in magic and ghosts and curses, but the main reason is because i've always admired the common sense of perrenial winners and their understanding of the absolute simplicity of it all.
  14. i love ron, but if i were a fan of another team forced to listen to him, i'd break the radio and burn it.
  15. i miss colorado for only that reason: ruining the time of native coloradoans. aside from that, they can have their crappy state.
  16. i think hawk continues to embarass himself and the wgn family and the station should seriously take a look at barring him from calling any more games on their station.
  17. i really love the way hawk tries to set up his calls before the play is finished. he looks like an idiot most of the time. that's a strike 'em out..............................and izturis is safe at second.
  18. mistake. hill getting absolutely squeezed on pitches that vazquez would get all day. ump has stopped calling strikes, white sox have stopped swinging at strikes.
  19. cut the guy some slack, he was "just putting the ball in play", trying to "make things happen", etc.
  20. i don't think the trade was a good one, don't get me wrong. but bowen is intriguing as a starting catcher. he's never been given a real shot at solid playing time until this season and thus far has showed superior discipline at the plate, something i'll take all day.
