  1. The Cubs and Brewers both have 52 losses... The problem with the Brewers is that over 46% of their offense is homerun dependent. home runs are a statistic largely devoid of luck. hitting w/risp isn't. That's fine but when a team (like the Brewers) can't score many runs without the benefit of homeruns it isn't an advantage. As I said, both teams have 52 losses yet, the Brewers have hit 152 homeruns to the Cubs 88. and the brewers have scored a significant amount more runs than the cubs have, what's your point?
  2. giving up already? come on man, don't you at least want to put up a fight? have you seen his posts. This is about par for the course. The only player that tries on this team is Ryan Theriot. that's ridiculous. if trying were enough, the league would be full of .500 teams. I am being sarcastic lmao. the schizophrenic nature of your posting often makes it hard to tell. i apologize.

  5. Because he doesn't know what he's doing. But he's gone out and gotten impact players at the trading deadline when we were in it in 2003, and 2004. It's not like he doesn't have a history of making decent mid-season acquisitions. Maybe it was a sellers market and he wasn't willing to get raped. I hope that's what it was anyway. he didn't have the ability to add payroll. i really think he's unable to do anything with the current situation.
  6. jason kendall looks like somebody who skipped out on a da kine bail bond.
  7. i'd imagine it's pretty good, but that's just a feeling. we're very good at hitting w/risp and 2 outs, which scares the hell out of me, especially considering our lack of power. we needa a power hitter. go get one right now jim, i mean, tonight--or at least try. Can't be done through waivers, most likely. well, we'll see. the brewers are ahead of us in the standings, who else would block a trade? there are the wild card teams, but would they really do something like that?

  9. since the cubs won't sit on the market and have to wait for a buyer--i don't know why signing z quickly will be a big deal. hendry will just have to wait for the okay from the approved buyer--even well before the team trades hands. this okay won't take long.
  10. how about a walk.....then boom. then show his family.
  11. i have nothing against glavine, but i would walk up to her and punch her in the face if it meant the cubs spoiling win 300.
  12. i know what you mean, it almost feels like some sort of last hurrah.
  13. getting mets hitters to swing against the cubs is like pulling teeth.
  14. lastings milledge hasn't looked good against anyone else this season. doesn't matter who's on the mound, just so long as it's a cub.
  15. cub fans don't care about glavine, his arm can fall off and burn for all i care. holy crap 95!
  16. Exactly. No one will be defending Marquis when he's paid $9 mil. to pitch mop-up out of the bullpen in '09. We won't take him out of the rotation. Hell we won't bench Jones for 5 million. jones is more valuable than marquis at this point. I don't think so, who takes Marquis spot in the rotation? Gallagher, hes ready right now exactly.
