  1. what do you do when you need to make a move and it's the time of year when no moves are made but if you don't make a move you're finished and will waste a huge payroll? you find somebody who isn't ryan freel.
  2. only.....the.....cubs. i'm not worried about the brewers because they'll finish under .500, but seriously, there are other teams we should worry about.
  3. we better figure out how to hit breaking pitches real fast because no one throws us fastballs anymore and no one ever seems to miss with the junk, ever.
  4. how come that kind of crap only seems to happen to the cubs? at least, among "contending teams".
  5. I'll give you one thing, sulley. No one on here can just make up stuff and use hyperbole like you can. Add that to your unmatched skills of self-pity when it comes to your teams and unique ability to constantly whine about officiating and horrible luck in the face of any factual evidence or sound reasoning. hey, attack the post not the poster! now, how about some iowa hoops? Nah I'd rather not. There's not much to discuss this year. I'd rather discuss how Illinois football and basketball as well as the Bears have never gotten a good bounce in your lifetime. Or how they're the victims of a conspiracy by the officials every single game. It truly is fascinating. If it's so boring to you then why waste your time in a Bears thread? if you knew as many hawkeye-viking-cub fans as i knew, you'd cut him some slack. they're like the worst breed of fan, hawkeyecub is pretty cool compared to the rest of them.
  6. for crying out loud, have a sense of humor. everybody i think already knows how i am, it doesn't need to be broken down. my concern is that you're fighting homerism with more homerism in this thread. but saying forte is just above average because he averaged less than 4 ypc while paying no attention to the scrubs that were blocking for him, or the fact that he was going up against 8 in the box on every play borders on meatballery. peterson is great, we all know it, and everyone that i know gives him his credit. nobody is really comparing peterson to forte except to say that forte had more yards from scrimmage in his rookie year. anyone with eyeballs can tell you that there's not much of a comparison. but luckily, if favre is back, there isn't going to be much of a comparison between him and cutler, either. besides his fluke season the year before last, he's been pretty average to bad over the last 4 years, almost bear-like. i wouldn't say he's so much declining as he's declined completely. the vikings would be smart to just go with rosenfels. maquoketa represent woot!
  7. but he won them in a truth-telling contest two towns over.

  9. i really have no doubt that it's no coincidence that the top quarterbacks in the league all have a couple of very good-to-great receivers. cutler will come to chicago and make devin hester look like eddie royal. sure, eddie royal is strong or whatever, but devin hester is devin hester. the bears do not have a receiver like brandon marshall, but they have one of the better receiving tight ends in the league, one of the best pass-catching running backs and some potential to work with in iglesias, who looks good as a possession guy, and johnny knox, who is a very interesting player. the bears will be just fine, cutler will make his receiving corp and everyone will wonder where these receivers came from.
  10. yeah, sorry, i.......well, i lied to you. it won't happen again.
  11. yes, peterson is great no one in history can touch him and favre is better now than he ever has been. oh yeah, and everyone on the bears sucks compared to them. but hey, let's talk iowa hoops!
  12. okay, i'll stop.
  13. i want jay cutler to live at my house and be my best friend forever.
  14. i still can't wait to talk iowa hoops!
  15. i can't wait to talk some iowa hoops!
  16. mayweather is a bad matchup for pacquiao. i would pick mayweather within 5, knowing pac's penchant for attacking. mayweather would catch him at a reckless point and send him back to neptune.
  17. i know. it shocks me how many sparring partners aren't as good as the boxers they're hired off the street to spar with. With head gear on sparring partners normally last long enough to allow the champion boxer to work on some things. That hasn't been the case. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_IyyLo2K6hes/SeYX32-KMPI/AAAAAAAAAMM/3yQkotyMZx0/s400/headgear.jpg
  18. i just watched a youtube video of pac-man getting knocked out with a body punch by some dude named singsurat. and then, there he was on neptune after getting knocked out by another dude named torrecampo.
  19. nice job, bulls. now go get some more players.
  20. vancouver's a pretty sweet town, much nicer than boston. so they got that going for them.
  21. bulls are done. now 'hawks, go win the [expletive] stanley cup!
  22. if they can hang around a little bit and keep it at single digits, they could go on a run and push it into ot.
