    Replay showed Z pointing at AJ as he crossed the plate and saying something. Knowing Z, I wouldn't be surprised if he did say something he should have kept to himself.

    The first homer was similar to that too. Not quite as low. I don't think Contreras will be going back down there again today. Did anyone else yell, "Stretch, stretch!" as that Podsednik went back to the track? 1st HR was low and in, the but the 2nd was significantly moreso. Aram almost hit the ball off the top of his shoes.

    Been a while since I've seen a pitch that bad turn into a HR.

    Thome looks bad today. He can't deal with Z's breaking stuff with 2 strikes. Z just has to keep getting those first 2 strikes.

    Pierre doesn't have the confidence to swing the bat anymore. Bunting has become his primary option. Seems like most of his swings are defensive hacks with 2 strikes.

    Given that Barrett was blocking the plate and obviously expecting a throw I don't see why AJP would have thought the throw was going to be cut off.

    The collision was perfectly clean, but it did look like AJ may have leaned into Barrett after the play. The smart move for Bare would have been to let AJ bump him so AJ could draw an ejection. Unfortunately that plate slap made Bare lose his cool.

    They needed Blanco starting every day? so you advocate laying down like a dormat? oh right, you're the one who wanted them to tank from day one. Yeah, you're right and I was wrong. The Cubs are a legit World Series contender. Shame on me.

    You cannot be serious. Yeah, it was sort of stupid, but he was fired up. Barrett grabbed him and slugged him. I lost a lot of respect for Barrett. So the unsportsmanlike conduct by AJ means nothing to you? What AJ did was in poor taste, but it wasn't dirty. There's really no comparison to what Barrett did.

    It amazes me that Pierre has 9 career home runs. How he ever hit 1, let alone 9, is beyond me.
