  1. Let's get a win streak going! Ok, just score a run Cobs.
  2. His command usually seems off early in the year, can't imagine the COVID stint helped
  3. 3 new bullpen arms, get someone else in this game. Chafin has nothing.
  4. Someone really needs to come out with an all-sports streaming service option. Feels like all the options out there are all a mis-mash of options. The truth is, regional sports networks are expensive to carry and I feel like sports fans are less likely to cut the cord than non-sports fans. If these streaming services want to keep their costs below cable, they have to make sacrifices.
  5. Highly doubt the Cubs care about Nico's service time, it's weird it's being framed that way. If they truly cared, he would have been demoted last year.
  6. I'd rather see Alzolay, Tyson Miller, etc get starts over Arrieta. Guess why I'm pissed off here. I don't need to see a 2016 reunion, I'm tired of bringing back old players. The Cubs actually made a great decision when they let him walk.
  7. That's pretty awful. Wasn't a fan of bringing back Lester but should have just brought him back if you're doing a shitty pitcher reunion to sell tickets.
  8. Worse than trading 20 is trading next year's first. But Pace doesn't give a horsefeathers. Yep, I'd much rather do the Cohen, 20, Foles trade than trade next year's first. Given the Bears schedule, if Wentz is as bad as he was this year, they'd be picking top 10 rather easily. If things go South, the Bears are in an even bigger mess than they are now. This would 100% be a "Pace knows he's gonna be fired next year, throw the kitchen sink at the 2021 Bears" trade and that's extremely dangerous.
  9. The Bears are definitely gonna be the Texans from last year handing over a top 10 pick to the Eagles

    Huh? This is actually good
  11. I'm seeing a lot of pissed off Cubs fans on social media. I can't be the only one here that had no desire seeing Lester pitch in 2021 on the Cubs. 2015-2018 were awesome and he's one of the best free agent signings in Cubs history and Chicago sports history but it's pretty clear he was done in 2019 and completely done in 2020. I get that people are pissed with everything the Cubs are doing at this point but I can't get there with this move and there will be time to mend fences with Jon and welcome him back when he's done.
  12. "Flags fly forever!" is gonna give Cubs ownership tons of leeway to do whatever the horsefeathers they want, if my friends who utter the phrase are any indication. Honestly don't see why anyone in the NL Central should try to do anything if MLB is gonna keep the dumb expanded playoffs. The fanbase is gonna celebrate "playoffs!" no matter how they get there, just have to look at the Bears.
  13. I've already seen Hudson Head mentioned, who would be better than anyone the Cubs got for Yu. I'm gonna be angry again when I see this return.
  14. lol I'd much rather be the Bears than Detroit. Detroit is going to have at least a 1 year headstart on their rebuild with a new coach and GM. Granted, it's Detroit and things will likely not turn out well but I'd rather be them.
  15. And like that, there's not a team in the NFL in a worse position than the Bears. And now we get to watch a desperate Ryan Pace do work to further ruin the future when they do make a change.
  16. This is why change should have been made when they were losing 6 games in a row. Instead, they let wins over the Texans, Vikings, and Jaguars fool them and the Cardinals being equally incompetent extended things another week.
  17. For places with HC and GM openings (assuming Chicago opens both): 1. Jags---Trevor Lawrence, already a decent offense, plays in the AFC South 2. Chargers ---Herbert, winnable team right away, downside is Mahomes and KC will run the division for the next decade 3. Texans ---Assuming Watson is staying you have a franchise QB, AFC South 4. Jets ---#2 overall pick, AFC East isn't strong outside of the Bills 5. Falcons ---Ryan is aging so need to find a QB but have some decent pieces here and NFC South has Brees and Brady retiring soon. Blank is a loyal owner though so there's some stability here. 6. Bears ---Have some decent pieces to build around but no QB and an aging defense with cap problems. Probably looking at a rebuild the next few years. 7. Lions ---Total rebuild here with less pieces to work around than the Bears For head coach, probably similar. I'd probably put the Eagles ahead of the Bears just because I'm intrigued by Jalen Hurts more than anything the Bears have if they stick with him over Wentz. For GM, Carolina is probably a QB away from being in playoff contention. They have nice pieces on both sides of the ball. I'd probably put them behind the Jets. But basically, I don't think the Bears job is very attractive on either the coaching or GM side. It's really only made attractive by market size and fanbase. It's a team that's in one of the worst positions in the NFL going forward. If they make no moves, I'd argue they might be the team in the absolute worst position in the NFL given other teams in worse spots have a chance at making moves this offseason that could change their trajectory whereas the Bears are likely spinning in place for another season before a rebuild.
