  1. You mean the same Wildcat that's averaged something like 2 yards a play this year, almost entirely on the strength of last week? I'm a bit suprised they didn't pull it out a little bit, but it's not like it was especially effective or like they had a chance of winning without moving the ball in the air in the first place...which wasn't likely to happen without their best receiver and with the 3rd string center snapping to the 3rd string quarterback. It's still astounding to me that they ran the ball so few times period. I don't get it.
  2. Well, I didn't like the quarterback situation for the Dolphins coming into this week, but I liked it a hell of a lot better than I do going into next week.
  3. There could conceivably be a 4 way tie in the SEC West. Bama and Arkansas now have 2 losses, assuming the Hogs hold on and beat South Carolina. LSU has one. Arkansas plays LSU to end the season, so that's how LSU would get 2 losses. Auburn would need to lose to Georgia and Bama in their last two games. I have no idea who would win the tiebreaker in this scenario, by the way.
  4. Without looking, I'm going to guess Anthony Peeler. Damn, missed.
  5. With 8 lbs. of weed, I'll bet it was an easy contact.
  6. It's funny to think that Jermaine O'Neal and Kobe Bryant came straight out of high school the same year.
  7. Well, expletive an expletiving expletive in the expletiving expletive. Greg Childs is out for the year, AND Joe Adams is still questionable for this weekend after missing last week's game. Expletive.
  8. I'm interested in Memphis and New Jersey also. The Nets were terrible last year but better than their record, and they made some huge improvements in the offseason. Memphis was doing very well then hit a wall midseason. It'll be interesting to see if they can take the next step this year. Darrell Arthur is looking good. It's funny that of their primary big man rotation when healthy (Gasol/Randolph/Arthur/Thabeet), I like Thabeet the least, easy.
  9. Very screwed. I don't get it, though. If the ball is recovered in the endzone it is either a TD or a turnover. How can you just place the ball at the 1/2 yard line? This seems like something we'd do in grade school because we don't have refs to make the correct call. Settle on something in the middle so nobody gets too pissed off and quits playing. If this play was never reviewed the refs wouldn't just look at each other and then place the ball at the 1/2 yard line. I need an explanation on this "rule". I believe the problem was that the refs blew the play dead before possession was determined, but I'm not sure. There wasn't a conclusive change of possession in the replays that I saw, But nevermind all that. 2:36 to go, no timeouts, needing a field goal to win. Ronnie Brown has 8 rushes for like 11 yards. So naturally, you burn 30 seconds off the clock on first down with Ronnie Brown up the middle. What in the hell was that play call?
  10. TCU is kind of getting screwed in the Boise talk. They haven't shown they're any better, and the schedules are roughly the same (CBS has their SOS coming into this weekend as 48 for Boise and 54 for TCU, but with TCU destroying a good Air Force team, that's likely to change). The future schedule looks better for Boise though. Current CBS #29 Nevada and #38 Hawaii are still on the schedule, while TCU doesn't play anybody but Utah ranked higher than #68 the rest of the way.
  11. Brett Favre has his hands full and is trying to get some time in with the boys. fixed
  12. You think? This is probably the most infuriating possible way to lose a game. I know it's not over, but it might as well be.
  13. I missed it, but I'm laughing to myself...if there is a luckier man on the planet, I'd like to meet him.
  14. Shoutouts to former Razorback RBs. 144 yards for Hillis on Sunday too. :D Meanwhile, one day Felix Jones is going to do something this year.
  15. you mean when they have a 7 point lead? because two point conversions are successful less than 50% of the time. let's say if you make it (~45%) the game is over. if you don't make it, it's a 7 point game. if the other team scores a TD they tie the game. it's better to make them score and then get the 2 point conversion since there's less than a 50% chance of converting. I'm not watching the game, so I'm not sure of the exact situation. When I read his post, I thought that he meant that after the six points of the touchdown, that left them up by one point. The XP would give a two point lead and the two point conversion would put them up a field goal. But like I say, I have no idea what the actual game situation is/was. Nah, he meant scoring a touchdown when you previously had a 1 point lead. The TD gives you 6, giving you a 7 point lead. They're arguing the merits and demerits of going for 2 in that situation when the opponent only has time for one possession.
  16. Man, that's depressing. It's one thing to lose by just getting overpowered or outlasted, but to just throw the game away in the last 5 minutes...man.
  17. Pretty sure he was...no idea what happened. You can't do that, man.
  18. PI. Smart PI, actually.
  19. I know it gave me a pantsload.
  20. He's back in, just made a catch. Whew.
  21. He could end up being the best Mark *ngram in NFL history.
  22. Two plays? Word? I'll take it.
  23. Still trying to figure out where the notion of never ranking a 1 loss team higher early under any circumstances came from.
  24. There sure are a lot of huge, raw, big-armed QB prospects playing college football right now. Pryor, Newton, Foles, Johnson, Kapaernick... Regarding Arkansas's chances against Alabama, I don't think it's as bad as the naysayers call it. Alabama is the more solid, deeper team, but I see it as about a 6-4 matchup in favor of Bama...maybe 5.5-4.5 due to Arkansas's home field advantage.
