  1. Honestly, I think they're too high. Consider that there are four one loss teams in the top 25. Miami was semi-competitive with Ohio State on the road; Oregon State lost to #4 TCU: Penn State got wrecked by #1 Alabama. What justification is there for ranking Iowa above Miami? It's really hard to justify a 1 loss team being in the top 20 this early, actually.
  2. It's nice when your 2 favorite teams are on that list (Chicago and Miami). Even better when they both had impressive wins on the road against pretty decent teams. Must be even nicer when each team beat one of the other team's division opponents this week. :D
  3. If it makes you feel any better, at least still love you.
  4. Exactly. He clearly has some great physical gifts, but a lot of people had Locker as the #1 QB prospect and suggested he could have gone #1 overall in the most recent draft. He's pumped up as the #1 QB prospect for the upcoming draft...I didn't get it then, and I don't get it now. He clearly has good raw ability, but #1 overall? Off of one decent season passing? Why? What's funny is that many of the same scouts/analysts/armchair quarterbacks who were so high on Locker and his career 53% completion percentage would downgrade Mallett over his accuracy. Like I said, I don't get it. I'm much higher on Luck than Locker.
  5. I never got the level of hype behind Locker in the first place. I mean, I get that he got a lot better as a passer, but he didn't be come outstanding...he just got decent. I guess the idea of a QB who can pass for almost 3000 and run for almost 1000, albeit in very different seasons, is enticing, but how does that translate into a potential #1 overall?
  6. Arkansas tried to give me a heart attack. They pretty much dominated for 52 minutes but spent 7 minutes being free to deep passes over the middle and almost lost it. Great defense on Georgia's last real possession, though, and a great 33 second touchdown drive, though.
  7. Wow, I'm not sure I've ever seen a guy more wide open than on that play in the Ark-GA game.
  8. WAC's not off to a bad start. They have possibly the 2 worst teams in the FBS, but they also are pretty decent across their top 5-6 teams, it appears. Of course, 3 of those teams are leaving for the MWC...
  9. What? A one time upper class organization that has been pretty crappy for a while now whose last really successful era was in the 70's? Kind of fits. Not sure who else is better. Kind of I guess, but the Orioles current level of crappiness is so far beyond the Dolphins it's not even really worth talking about. The Dolphins have had a losing record 4 of the last 6 years, which is terrible for them (you have to go back to '88 and then '76 to find another Dolphins losing season) but the Orioles haven't had a winning season since 1997. But yes, both franchises were at their best in the 70's, for whatever that's worth. I get that it would be hard to make a good match and all.
  10. What?
  11. Of the three rookie QBs last year that got significant starting time, I liked Stafford the most, followed by Freeman and Sanchez.
  12. Not that I disagree with the point, but it's pretty hilarious that .500 is bunched in with the "bad" records. I'm sure that doesn't distort the numbers at all.
  13. Was this intentional?
  14. And they didn't, so now it's a 3 point game. Argh.
  15. Good to see McFadden doing well. Peyton Hillis is also having a good day in Clevelend with 6 rushes for 34 and a TD. Go former Razorback RBs. The Dolphins have dominated the Bills, but they're only up 10-3. They have got to start putting points on the board.
  16. Arkansas needs to get over these turnovers and drops before Georgia next week. They should be up by 30+ now, if not for 2 fumbles lost, a pick and a ton of balls dropped. I feel like I'm watching puberty out there. And write as I submit that, Arkansas scores a TD.
  17. Weird day for sure. ULM's defense is surprisingly stout in their own territory. that 3-3-5 alignment is proving effective. Of course, it doesn't matter if they can't move the ball on what looks to be a much improved Arkansas offense. And it's official...the "top" 5 teams in the ACC are now 3-6 on the season with their wins being against Samford, South Carolina State, and Florida A&M. Wow.
  18. So, 11 days ago there were 5 ACC teams in the top 20...and those five teams are currently 3-4, with the two teams left currently playing and trailing.
  19. The Heisman is a joke trophy anyway.
  20. I wouldn't say never but in most years I agree. in most years everyone agrees, but there are years when LSU has two losses and plays for a championship, or utah runs the table and looks great while doing so, or boise state topples national power oklahoma. so why don't these teams deserve a shot? It's even worse because when teams like Boise try to schedule powerhouses from BCS schools in their nonconference schedules, 99% of the teams [expletive] out. And because those teams, no matter how good they are, never get a fair chance at a national title, they're automatically handicapped in recruiting. It's ridiculous. I hate the BCS so much. Well it's not exactly like that. Boise wants teams who want to schedule a true home and home with them. That doesn't make sense for any top 10-15 program. Nebraska offered a 2 (in Lincoln) for 1 (in Boise) series with them and Boise doesn't want any part of it. Recently they've just been asking for a single game with no return date and have been getting turned down.

  22. Actually, looking over the scores today, it looks like a lot of teams looked pretty meh against weak comp. I caught Florida-Miami and Texas-Rice earlier, and both teams looked pretty unimpressive.
  23. Wow, Arkansas was down 3-0 after a quarter. Good old slow starts.
  24. Gotta love getting your stereotypes wrong. Good stuff, May.
  25. So you've been watching him play 1st ? " Stop with the " making things up to help your argument. That may be the weirdest use of quotes I've ever seen. Also, you completely missed what he was saying.
