  1. Tomorrow's editorial: Cubs were actually good last year. You are all mistaken. Keep buying tickets
  2. Good, that still gives them time to change the design. :D Seriously. I personally think it needs more glass.
  3. Maddux has tremendous upside? You have to be kidding me.
  4. You can't be serious.... how 'bout Nomar at 1B and Lee in LF? Barrett at short, Nomar in right, and Burnitz behind the plate?
  5. Hooray! RISP average!
  6. "Everybody loves the Cubs, everybody loves the Cubs..." *stabs self*
  7. I doubt the building on Clark will go up this offeseason. They haven't broken any ground over there at all.
  8. Booooooooooooooooooooooooo.
  9. http://espn-att.starwave.com/media/mlb/2005/1010/photo/a_rodriguez_372.jpg This is one crazy picture. Look at how high Matsui's leg is....
  10. Some buffoon writes a web article and that means something somehow? You oughtta know better than that. Who's in the playoffs and who isn't? That's all that matters. Like I said, individual stats: overrated. Team wins: the name of the game. Wow Soul. You're missing the point. What CPatt and the rest have been saying is true, Kenny Williams simply isn't a good GM. The article proves it without discrediting Pods' year. Lee's importance to the Brewers is far more than Pods to the White Sox, as the VORP is stating. He's fortunate that Pods became a sparkplug. Would a good GM make a trade to acquire the SAME OF/DH (Everett) twice in back to back midseasons? Seems like a waste of prospects to me. Let me see what I'm gathering here, your argument is based off of what? Miracles and luck? No doubting the White Sox have been good this year, but come on. Statistically they shouldn't even been close (hence my comment that they will fall hard in the standings next year). You should know better... What that mediot fails to realize as do most others who look at that trade, is that it was also a salary dump, which saved the White Sox 7 million, which they used to sign AJ, El Duque and Iguchi. And there is the winning answer. Now the big question for us Cub fans: How will Hendry spend the freed up Sosa money? 6m for Preston Wilson. 7m to pick up Burnitz's option.
  11. Not really. i'd be surprised if they lost another one the rest of the way.
  12. I have to go to work at 3am, and I'm not going anywhere NEAR downtown State College tonight. Last night there were about 20 horse mounted police for crowd control......the night BEFORE the game! In 55 degree weather with pouring rain! Tonight it's going to be mayhem! My sister just called. She's still in the stadium. Evidently a lot of the student section ended up on the field, but they're not going after the goalposts, just partying it up.
  13. Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooo We are....Penn State!!!!!!
  14. "Nobody knows about this guy, Justin Norwood." That's right, Bob. Neither do you. His name's Jordan.
  15. Man, this PSU-OSU game is great. Back and forth. great hitting. it's too bad Bob Davie won't shut the hell up.
  16. Gotta root for the Cards. Cards fans are good-natured, for the most part. Sox fans are, well, awful, for the most part. Except you Jabroni, you sexy, sexy man.
  17. A freshman who is on the team this year? Probably Derrick Williams or Justin King. Derrick Williams, that is who I was thinking of. #1 overall on Rivals.com. Thank you. Like Ted Ginn, Jr., but better. I'd say he's only better because his coach gets him involved more. From an overall talent standpoint, I can't see how you could say Williams is better, given that Ginn could play as a shutdown DB as well. If he decides to pursue a DB spot in the NFL, I believe he'd succeed incredibly well. He's got great DB size and tremendous athleticism. Fine. Like Ted Ginn, Jr., but more involved.
  18. A freshman who is on the team this year? Probably Derrick Williams or Justin King. Derrick Williams, that is who I was thinking of. #1 overall on Rivals.com. Thank you. Like Ted Ginn, Jr., but better.
  19. ... PENN STATE! This is the most important game in 5 years for the Nittany Lions. Hope they don't embarass themselves on national TV. Stop thinking like a Penn State fan from 2003. Go out on a limb again. Crush them nuts!
  20. Uh Oh! You said the "T" word. Now we're on the list for sure. people that steal bricks hate America.
  21. We are....
  22. I actually had that in my sig for a while. It just struck me as hilariously stupid at the time, especially considering that Burnitz played at Coors. Thread: 3.7.05 Quote of the Day yeah, that was it. Even worse than the version I'd remembered.
  23. 1.4, but your point is well-taken. Sadly, Neifi had the third-most PAs on the team, over 100 more than Aramis. Sigh. i was a bit off. But the fact that it was 1.4 makes me want to vomit.
  24. Someone doesn't have to see White Sox fans on a regular basis....
  25. Isn't that how the White Sox and Astros got to the post-season? Timely hitting? How does somebody go out and acquire timely hitting in the offseason? Houston and White Sox didn't make it to the playoffs off timely hitting, they made it on unbelievable pitching. They better not waste time, focus and money thinking they can magically solve the clutch dilemna. Just get production Jimbo, let the romanticists worry about the myths you have no control over. Timely hitting is aquired when you buy each player a Rolex, it's just that simple. If you hear Hendry say after a trade or signing: "He hit XXX with runners in scoring position" is your head going to explode? I just have this wierd feeling that it's coming soon to a park you love. It still wouldn't be nearly as bad as the line, "He hit the 4th most home runs of anyone with his number of strikeouts or more."
