  1. I'm totally on the Hawpe bandwagon. I think he'd be a solid addition to the team, and provide a left-handed middle of the order bat. I just don't think CO is willing to trade him nor would we have what it takes to get him.
  2. Get rid of Dick Stockton, duh. :)
  3. The worst part, thus far, has been the know-it-all Sox fans that think backing into the playoffs on game 163 is somehow better than the Cubs having the best record in the NL and winning the division a week before the season ended. Also, those same Sox fans look at their one win (so far) as better than the 2005 WS because the Cubs didn't win at all.
  4. I don't think it's THAT over the top. If you polled reaction on this board and throughout the city, you'd get a lot of that same reaction. I know that I mirrored a lot of those thoughts. We'll see if this carries over to next year. If they continue winning, it will change nothing. If they struggle out of the box, you'll get people saying "See this is why I gave up on them." Overall, we'll get the same pattern that emerges every year.
  5. I... what? Ugh, and the team has this bozo for another six years? I can't wait.
  6. Alfonso wishes he could hit like Sosa. Soriano wishes he could be Manny Alexander at this point.
  7. I swear to God, if I see him piroette one more freaking time, I'm going to scream. Either you know how to play at the major league level, or you go home.
  8. This is high comedy. Newsflash - the Mets would have destroyed this bunch. A short list of things that would have destroyed this bunch: A nursing home softball league Hellen Kelly and her band of blind, deaf, mute players The Bad News Bears the 1962 Mets My grandmother Just about anything on this earth.
  9. If you were to dig up Cy Youngs corpse, it would probably look like Cy Young against these guys. And he'd play better defense too.
  10. Steve Goodman is one of the lucky ones. He doesn't have to sit through this disaster.
  11. This is the same team that led the league in walks this year, right? Hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate
  12. I'm all for trading Lee. He's a shadow of his 2005 fluke season and as tonight shows, his defense is severely overrated. And Theriot can just go to hell.
  13. As much as I love Pat Hughes, there's not coming back from this. No way, no how. Bunch of freaking bums.
  14. I just want to see it's been great getting to know you guys. I'm going to find a real baseball team to root for.
  15. I don't know, even as a hobby, it's kinda lame. I have a single ball that I got during batting practice. I'm done. Everyone should experience the joy of getting a ball at the ballpark.
  16. Zambrano/Harden/Peavy or Peavy/Zambrano/Harden or even Zambrano/Peavy/Harden Regardless, =P~
  17. God took the wrong Belushi. There, I said it.
  18. we've taken a vote, you're no longer in charge of your feelings Duly noted. Could you please remove my affection for foods that are bad for me and nerdy hobbies? sorry, we're currently not doing what's in the best interest for those we single out ah crap, and here I diavowed his love of pot roast.
  19. Actually, they're talking Scrooge McDuck's butler Duckworth: http://www.kaczeopowiesci.yoyo.pl/cala.reszta/cezar.gif
  20. "We're going streaking!" Pap sure sounds like Frank the Tank in that clip.
