  1. I think the wrist injury last year is also affecting his power numbers. Remember when Ryno broke his wrist? His power was never the same after that.
  2. I wouldn't be as concerned if his delivery didn't look so violent. I'm afraid his arm is going to fly off like on that old SNL sketch of the weightlifters in the "All Drug Olympics" http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1178/1252053501_01a9b1c64c.jpg
  3. I think we have a new slogan: WE SUCK LEAST better than "it's gonna happen"
  4. Yeah, CU Buffs all the way. I'm really hoping we suck less this year. Thanks!
  5. Another game of note, the Rocky Mountain Showdown at Invesco Field at Mile High: Colorado vs. Colorado State... guess it's off the national radar but it's kind of a big deal here.
  6. Can anyone get this??? I have the 2004 montage done by WGN. Here it is: (WARNING: May be painful to watch) I started it, but I couldn't do it.
  7. I heard him and his buddies agreed ahead of time to split the money if one of them caught it...think he backs out, or he's a man of his word?
  8. You've gotta stay. And get drunk. Very drunk.
  9. Are you serious? Seriously, you know someone has lost it when crazy Carl Everett is the voice of reason. And anyone notice that none of the Bluefish beside the catcher charged in to defend their teammate? There are way more black uniforms on the field than white ones. Someone (corner infielders?) should have taken out his legs.
  10. Wow, nice. Wish I had your connections...you going again tonight?
  11. It helps when every Sunday night you can talk about how great you were (even making up stories about game winning hits that never happened) on national television. I hate Joe Morgan so much.
  12. As much as I hoped this wouldn't be the case, it's not like it's a surprise.
  13. Maybe if he grabbed his crotch more often when he is up to bat, he would be more relaxed.
  14. He drove me nuts when he was on the team, but I didn't start truly hating him til he had that phenomenal game against the Cubs a year or 2 back...now I really loathe him.
  15. I read this piece by Jason Stark last month about how overrated Jones is. This was just before the Cubs played the Braves last month. After reading the article, I was getting really annoyed with Bob and Len all up on his jock gushing about how great Andruw Jones is. Good read: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2880979
  16. He actually came back fairly well in 1969 after his first knee injury, but when he was injured again in 1970 he wasn't able to come back at any level of effectiveness (he played in two games each in 1970 and 1971, with less than 100 yards total and less than 3 yards per carry each year). It would have been nice to see what he could have been if only he played 10 or 20 years or so later, with substantial improvements in knee surgery. Randy Hundley is another player who was never the same after injuries. How about Terrell Davis? MVP, Super Bowl MVP, 2000 yard season...ACL tear...never came close agina, retired 3 years later.
  17. Well at least he won't have to deal with the wind once they get to Chicago. :D I'm not sweating it yet, and drills only say so much. I remember going to Spring Training as a kid and watching Ryno boot a couple of grounders during drills. I though it had to be a mistake, that some minor leaguer was wearing #23.
  18. Piniella is white? He's habla-ing Espanol, and I'm still looking for my wallet. So fire me.
  19. starting to feel better...regaining optimism.
  20. ESPN Radio has reported it, as have Fox Sports, Yahoo! Sports and ESPNEWS. I've followed the thread, but Nothing in those reports (admittedly I haven't read all of them) mention tat its official. It's not official, but I've never seen an announcement like this come out through all the major media sources and then turn out to be false. PLEASE PLEASE let it be the first time.
  21. I feel sick. There are way too many holes on this team to spend that kind of money on one guy. Its not like he's going to make this a playoff team.
  22. After the Cedeno disaster last year I'm surprised so many people are ready to hand hand the keys to Theriot, when Ronny's numbers in limited action in 05 were alot like Theriot's numbers in 06. I don't think Hendry wants to risk a similar situation in a lineup with so many questions, and DeRosa is a safer bet. I agree he paid too much, but its not a terrible move.
  23. If Rusch would just get back on the juice we'd be all set.
  24. Pretty generic, but nobody had a better home run call than Harry. "There's a drive, way back, it could be, it might be, IT IS! A home run!"
  25. Neither. I want Nomar back. We need him. Hell, I need him. I'm a mess without him. I miss him so damn much. I miss being with him, I miss being near him. I miss his laugh. I miss his scent; I miss his musk. When this all gets sorted out, I think him and me and Mia should get an apartment together.
