  1. ERA's starting from season one. 4.50, 4.42, 3.90, 4.17 xERA's starting from season one. 5.20. 5.20, 4.19, 4.33 FIP starting from season one 4.11, 4.89, 3.53, 3.74 And his Savant page isn't exactly red. He does however have a very good whiff rate, and a very good K rate. I definitely see him as a 3# or #4.. Maybe my expectations are too high.
  2. I feel the same way. Want a guy...go get him. Waiting out the FA market gets you what's left over.
  3. It makes perfect sense to blow by the first level this season with almost 150 million coming off the books in contracts as of today. But that means nothing to Tom.
  4. If 3/75 is too much for Jed, we won't get any top FA's. Hopefully it wasn't the price.
  5. I can't believe that this thread is still open
  6. I agree with this. If he's already on our team, I'm good with that. But to give something up for him is not something I would do. His biggest value is he's cheap and has 2 years of control. I'd say he's a #3 at best but closer to a #4
  7. This is obviously a fake report. He's at best in line for 5/150 or 6/180 range
  8. I never said that. It was being said on here.
  9. Well so much for having it narrowed down to 3 AL east team. Rumors are just that.
  10. Where do Caissie and Moises fit in here? Does Long ever get a shot?
  11. He'd work for sure.
  12. What about Evan Phillips? He could be ready in July. Maybe a 2/7 deal to monitor his recovery and see what he can do the back half of the season. Then they'll have him completely healthy for 2027
  13. This leads me to believe that he will be more than Keller.
  14. Anybody have an interest in Sean Armstrong as the last pen signing? Maybe 1/5 or 1/6?
  15. If we're being honest here, the 6th inning guy should always be the starter.
  16. I'm going to go on record and say that there's zero chance of signing him. I'd say that he's in the same price range as Keller and Weaver.
  17. He was most certainly the best long-term choice for the cost. But Jed signed him because he was the cheapest, and not because he thought he was the best option. He was the cheapest option. It just worked out for the Cubs.
  18. Awesome post, bud! But honestly, friends my age are not really baseball fans. I talk most of my baseball with guys in their mid to late 40's. But you are correct about our age group in general. If I was Tom, Jed would be around for as long as I own the team as winning is just not important, and he has the perfect guy in charge to toe the line. And if by chance Jed left, or got fired, his replacement would be exactly like Jed. Tom is not going to ever hire some aggressive president that's putting winning first. It all starts with the owner.
  19. I'm not a fan of him. Maybe the Royals or Pirates, etc would love him, but I don't. Most Cubs fans that I talk to don't like him either. He's weak and spineless. Sorry.
  20. His job is safe no matter what. He's done nothing so far and got an extension. This alone speaks volumes. He's doing exactly what Tom wants. Winning is not important to Tom. Money is.
  21. He says crap every off season and does nothing. Unless they sign Amai, Framber, or Suarez, it hasn't been addressed. Maybe King is an upgrade, but after that, there's nothing that I would consider an upgrade for the money.
  22. I'm never going to be able on keep up with your knowledge so I'm not going to respond.
  23. They are not going to be o-fer in developing young players. I just don't cheer on the front office as much as many do. And we're talking about developing YOUNG players here. At least I am. Not tweeking a veteran, which they do very well. Palencia is another guy they did well with.
  24. The Cubs scouting, drafting, and developing is what happened.
