He had 3 really good years for TB from 06-08, but was sidetracked with an injuries over that time. That and he is lacking in some control/is inefficient in his pitches. This year his numbers have been inflated by three starts where he gave up 6, 7, and 5 ER over a low amount of innings, but otherwise hasn't been horrible (still inefficient at times). In 3 starts in June he has been 3-0 with a 1.353 WHIP and 2.12 ERA, however he only pitched into the 7th once. TB traded him mostly due to the fact that he is owed 8mil this year and 12 next year (13.5 in 2012 or a 2m buyout). They did get a pretty good pitching prospect in Torres back (9th overall in TB's system according to BA in 2010)

The 22-year-old right-hander tossed a career-high eight innings, allowing an earned run on six hits and a walk while striking out four. Since taking over for an injured Justin Duchscherer in Oakland's rotation, Cahill has proved to be one of the A's most consistent pitchers. He's thrown a quality start in each of his last six outings, going 4-1 with a 2.25 ERA in that span. Cubs: Zambrano gave up two hits in five innings in his last start against the Brewers but he also walked five. He was pulled after throwing 88 pitches. It was his second start since returning to the rotation after 13 relief appearances. The Cubs are hoping that with more starts, he'll improve his command. He has faced the Athletics once, and that was in 2004. So far this season. Zambrano is 0-1 with a 4.15 ERA at home and 2-3 with a 6.91 ERA on the road. Those numbers include his relief appearances. Unfortunately for Floyd, he didn't get the win, as the bullpen imploded in the seventh inning and the Tigers pushed across six runs. It was his sixth straight quality start -- and he has not earned a win in any of them. Bour has homerun power. The one he hit tonight was to deep left-center and made it out by a good distance. He just needs to be able to use it. Lee had a good first AB before K-ing, and didn't look too bad in any of his AB's. The ump was inconsistent all night (ask the Loons' third-baseman Ruggiano, who probably would have been tossed if the ump had been looking at him after either of his strikeouts). Lee's single was a line drive to right with two on. Webster (Loons' pitcher) had them guessing for the first couple of innings and made a couple of the batters look really bad before the bottom of the third. The Chiefs' took more pitches that inning and let Webster get himself in trouble. McNutt pitched well, I can't give you speed numbers, the park gun wasn't active. He usually got ahead of hitters, but couldn't seem to finish them quickly. The only hard hit ball was in the first, a deep line drive to right that turned out to be only a long single.
