    Yay, an outfielder. That's exactly where our top priority should be. Depends on how ready you feel Brett Jackson is for mlb. Whether or not Jackson is ready shouldn't stop them from looking out outfielders. If they do go after Cespedes, then you could easily see an outfield of Soriano-Jackson-Cespedes with Byrd being traded.

    The only two scandals that really come anywhere near similar to this (and it's still a huge gap) are Bliss/Baylor basketball murder and Gary Barnett/Colorado multiple supposed rapes, including the rape of the female place kicker, and in both of those there were recruitment violations to go along with the scandal. Colorado was placed on two years' probation, fined $100,000 and lost one football scholarship for the next three seasons. Baylor: So I could see Paterno(won't matter anyways), McQueary, and anyone else implicated facing show-cause penalties. But as to punishment to PSU, that's anyone's guess.

    Carpenter is missing his spots with his fastball. Hopefully the Rangers can keep taking advantage of this.

    I spent the post-2003 offseason arguing that aramis ramirez actually sucked when he came over because of his lackluster OBP. I was in favor of the Choi for Lee trade, even though I liked Choi a lot. 2002 Aramis Ramirez was the worst cleanup hitter in modern history. He was also playing on one leg, but that didn't stop Lloyd McClendon. He needed that bat in the Pirates' lineup if they were going to get a playoff spot. I read that and thought, huh, the article is from 2008. I bet someone in Seattle has beaten that in the last 3 years. I was right.
