  1. FYP That was with Texas in 2012, so I didn't include it as part of the trade. Unless he was -0.1 Opening Day, in which case I didn't see that on Baseball Reference so far. Fangraphs has him at that for this season, but right now it's an exercise in stupidity to even look at it.
  2. I'm watching the Padres vs Dodgers for 2 innings now and the Padres crew have been wrong about what happened twice now. And not little things, things clearly happening to anyone watching: they announced that Puig's pop fly fell in for a hit despite Alonso clearly making the over the shoulder catch. This was after saying strike three called on Greinke when it was clearly called a ball. It's like they don't bother watching the whole play and just assume what's going to happen.
  3. 103 Or maybe not. I'm trying to be optimistic and say 80ish, but I can't... 72
  4. I thought about Braun but I couldn't stand to have that douche on my team Then it was between Olt and Abreu. I had to go with the Cubs player in that case.
  5. Group A: Chris Davis Group B: Prince Fielder, Mike Trout Group C: Giancarlo Stanton, Anthony Rizzo, Bryce Harper Group D: Wil Myers, Albert Pujols, Yasiel Puig, Eric Hosmer, Josh Willingham WC PM
  6. Actually Stites hasn't pitched in the bigs yet, just spring training (same as Jokisch)
  7. So maybe I missed this but have: Ben Wells Eric Jokisch Austin Reed Dustin Geiger Elliot Soto Matt Loosen all been released as well? That draft is still one of the most depressing things I've ever seen. Don't look at the 2005 draft...
  8. So maybe I missed this but have: Ben Wells Eric Jokisch Austin Reed Dustin Geiger Elliot Soto Matt Loosen all been released as well? No, none of them have. Not that this makes that draft all that much better.

  10. At the end of December the Bears signed Chris Williams, a WR who used to play for Hamilton in the CFL and actually set the record for return touchdowns in a single season (6). So I'm guessing he's going to be given a shot to be the return man.

  12. Here's the bracket from Wikipedia: http://i.imgur.com/eVVP9H6.png
  13. Hawks acquire Regin and Bouchard from NY Islanders for a 2014 fourth round pick. Bouchard and Pirri set to Rockford, Regin stays with Hawks. Bouchard is clearly just depth, Regin is probably going to get used on the PK a lot.
  14. I don't know if I'd say it isn't that important, but it's definitely after d-line. The good thing is that this draft has some really good defensive back depth, so there will be value in later rounds.
  15. Out of curiosity I traded every draft pick (including the next two first rounders) for the Texans 1st overall and then drafted a punter. Got a score of -317. Woo.
  16. That reaction by Cam was hilarious.
  17. 1a Baez 1b Bryant 3 Soler
  18. MLB can't take the voting, as it doesn't control it in the first place. The National Baseball Hall of Fame is a separate entity.
  19. "FSU can score quickly" Ah, the commentator's plea of "Please keep watching"
  20. I updated the roster and cap info in the first post.
  21. Suck it Eagles.
  22. He's got him! Dwayne Bowe down the side! Why is Indy celebrating? Oh, he was out. Way to pay attention to the game, you hack.
  23. Good luck with that. The last time a #1 pick was traded was 2004 (Eli) and the last time it was traded before the draft was 2001 (Vick). While some stupid team like Washington last year could sell their future for a pick, I don't think there is a player in this draft that any team is willing to do it for.
  24. What is spotrac and why would the Bears negotiate a deal that gives them a $22m cap hit this year after talking about how damaging the one year cap hit is for franchise tags? It looks like spotrac is just re-posting overthecap.com info http://www.overthecap.com/cap.php?Name=Jay%20Cutler&Position=QB&Team=Bears I personally like OtC more than Spotrac. To answer jersey's question: The reason is because they feel they have a lot of flexibility and cap room this year. By front loading the contract, it will give them more room in later seasons. While we talked about the one year impact of a franchise tag for Cutler, in the end we gave it more weight than the front office did. The one year impact was seen as more favorable, and allows Emery to limit the multi-year impact. Also, while some have commented on the contract as overpaying, which at first I agreed with, I can now see the reason behind the overpayment. In order to get Jay to agree to a contract that is very favorable to the team after four years, they had to overpay for those four years. In the end I feel it was a very smart move by Emery.
