  1. and Major "Where am I, what's going on? How do I tackle [expletive] moron" Wright. Jesus these guys couldn't suck more if they had both legs broken.
  2. Smart play call there. Can't score with the jumbo? Spread them out.
  3. I'm honestly starting to think this d-coordinator isn't up to the job. They get out-schemed way to much.
  4. That's okay, Oduya is playing goal today.
  5. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/mlb-umpire-wally-bell-dead-015336518--mlb.html
  6. usually I'm near the bottom, so this is easily the best I've done
  7. bears don't even look like they have a [expletive] clue today
  8. Come on Redzone, show the Bears, not highlights!
  9. talk about just sitting back and waiting for them. The Bears really need to pull their heads out of their asses in the second half. This game could've easily been 28-7 or something, not tied at 21.
  10. Playing like complete morons today.
  11. Biggest Surprise: Hendricks or Alcantara. Hendricks for the same reasons, Alcantara for surpassing expectations. Hell, I'll even put in Baez just for how he smashed in AA. Biggest Disappointment: Easily Brett Jackson. I expected him to be back in the big leagues by this point, hopefully showing that he could be at least a part of a platoon going into next year. He was ranked in the top 10 in pre-season prospect polls and now isn't even a prospect. Vizcaino as well because he didn't pitch. Favorite long shot: Kyler Burke
  12. Don't know the exact rules, but that's not correct. You are able to protect a number of players not on the 40 man I'm almost certain. You're eligible if next season is your fifth pro season and you signed at 18 or younger or next season is your fourth season and you signed professionally at 19 or older. The Cub Reporter has this list currently (updated 7/21/13 apparently). I don't know how accurate it is, but it's probably close: CUBS ELIGIBLE FOR MLB RULE 5 DRAFT POST-2013 (last updated 7-21-2013): Arismendy Alcantara, INF Gioskar Amaya, INF Frank Batista, RHP Xavier Batista, OF Dallas Beeler, RHP Justin Bour, 1B Marcelo Carreno, RHP Lendy Castillo, RHP Javier Castro, RHP Zach Cates, RHP Hunter Cervenka, LHP Pin-Chieh Chen, OF Casey Coleman, RHP Gerardo Concepcion, LHP Willson Contreras, C Wes Darvill, INF Antonio Encarnacion, RHP Luis Flores, C Anthony Giansanti, OF Enyel Gonzalez, RHP Carlos Gutierrez, RHP Jae-Hoon Ha, OF Marco Hernandez, INF Eric Jokisch, LHP Austin Kirk, LHP Matt Loosen, RHP Jeff Lorick, LHP Eric Martinez, RHP A. J. Morris, RHP Chad Noble, C Juan Carlos Paniagua, RHP (see NOTE) Loiger Padron, RHP Amaury Paulino, RHP Felix Pena, RHP Starling Peralta, RHP Dae-Eun Rhee, RHP Kevin Rhoderick, RHP Greg Rohan, INF Jose Rosario, RHP Zac Rosscup, LHP Victor Salazar, RHP Brian Schlitter, RHP Ryan Searle, RHP Elliot Soto, INF, Nick Struck, RHP Luis Villalba, LHP Yao-Lin Wang, RHP Oliver Zapata, OF Alcantara is a definite.
  13. What a horrible trade that was for the Pirates. Cubs get one of the best players of the decade and a great CFer who was instrumental in a playoff run; meanwhile, Pirates get half a season of crap from Hernandez, two seasons of crap from Hill, and nothing from Bruback.
  14. I just don't see Garza as a filling a true need for Detroit. Porcello (their No. 5) is their weak link in the rotation. Everyone else is performing well, or in Verlander's case, he believes figured out his issue, is in the process of making the corrections, and seems to be returning to form. Trading for Garza to replace a number 5 wouldn't meet the needs for either team. Detroit would have to overpay based on what it would take to acquire other #5 starters, or the Cubs would have to take less than Garza's real value, even as a rental. Porcello would easily be right with Wood and Shark in our rotation right now. His ERA may not be reflecting it, but he's been a 1.7 fWAR pitcher so far this year. Shark is 2.4, Wood 2.1. I would trade Garza for Porcello straight up right now.
  15. Happy no more Camp day. That is all.
  16. it was a brilliant redirect, and it was unlucky post. neither the nbc or cbc announcers mentioned it. they should have been screaming about it, it was masterful. i saw it on the second replay. CBC mentioned the tip several times. The actual call went "Here's a chance for Oduya, tipped, Bolland, scores!" The announcer then mentioned the deflection during replays.
  17. That scouting report also contains the helpful line:
  18. Hes just pissed because that's the Kings' game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUinrGIqJHI&feature=player_embedded (check out 1:47)
  19. No? I loved that story though. Whats the real deal? It was spontaneous, apparently, but it was a playoff series in the 1980s. 1985 I think. http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=388510
  20. Drop Matt Kemp, add Bryce Harper
  21. Missed some time is an understatement. Between 2011 and 2012 he had 10 innings pitched. It wasn't until last winter that he got healthy and had a good showing in winter ball. All of that considered, I would say he's making great progress and could be a very good pick up. Hopefully as the season progresses he will start gaining some consistency with his slider and change up.
  22. Haw haw. Bye bye losers.
