  1. whelp... this game is over thank god I have English to do to... wait.
  2. you, stop going to cubs games.
  3. "How dare they expect winning! Nobody should question me!" Screw you too, Dusty.
  4. lets trade him since he hits into so many double plays! I mean, he's horrible, right?
  5. I didn't catch the 8th inning yesterday, as Gameday locked up in the 4th inning and I couldn't get it to reload; I couldn't get MLB audio to stay connected for more than 5 or 6 minutes at a time. Just a bad day all around, but according to the box score I read.... Macias entered the game in the 9th spot. Macias lead-off the next inning (top of the 8th)
  6. MLB.com Will start vs Royals (wanted someone easy to come back too). Timlin will close til Foulke is back.
  7. As another note on the yankees, they have used 25 different pitchers this year already (Tied for lead with the Rangers and Marlins). The Twins are at the least with 13. The Royals and Devil Rays have used 20 or 21 (cant remember).
  8. That was exactly what I was thinking. Jaret Wright, too. except Wright never had a stellar season. In fact, he has been horrible everywhere except Atlanta, where he only managed to post 3.28/1.28/2.12 (ERA/WHIP/ K/BB). Before that, the best he managed was 4.72/1.53/1.54, in his only otehr full season as a starter in 98. Wright is horrible, even from the pen where he was in 03 with the Padres, posting a 8.37 ERA in 39 games (47.1 IP, 69 hits, 44 ER).
  9. that point has been passed a while ago...
  10. dont worry Fred, we had a guy filling in for you
  11. Of all the stats I've ever read, that's by far the most conclusive helping me work out today's result. 8) Did Phil win? I haven't heard. yes.
  12. what happened to "It won't help him but he is worthy"?
  13. this is funny because the Astros didnt start winning till mid-August and fired their manager in mid-July... a nice month difference...
  14. the Benny Hill music. oh, and: Kabong.
  15. my prediction: The Cubs hit 8 homers, all solo shots, and lose 12-8... after Dunn hits 3 grandslams.
  16. definitely not the first...
  17. and on the note above, I think I will be withdrawing myself from game thread starting... although I will be open to spot start or even spot finish... close? what?
  18. here's another challenge: At least act like you care.
  19. Damn. That's bad. Its not a dare I'd like to take up, either, really. Sad thing is, I can imagine it happening over Maddux/Williams games. No, I don't dislike them, but I sure as hell feel more jittery when they're on the mound. 0-2 4/18. Loss 7-6 to the Reds after going up 4-0 in the first... Wood pitched. 8/4. Loss 6-4 to the Phillies, Prior was pitching... and gave up 6 runs. then, last year, I was 0-1 with my only start where we lost 10-7 to Pittsburgh (Mitre vs. Fogg) thats 0-3 outscored 23 to 17... horrible pitching does me in.
  20. heck, soon the Pirates will be ahead of us... so, who's coming with me to Houston to beg Cuban to buy the Trib, and hence forth the Cubs?
