    Just saw Byrnes playing for the O's in a losing effort (they have a horrible bullpen outside of Ryan... and you think ours is bad) to the White Sox

    I wouldn't say no way, it will just take more than its worth. The Brewers know that Carlos Lee is special to their team, he is the only legitimate power threat in the offense, which was the main reason of getting him. Now, could they be talked out of him? Of course, but like I said, it would be way to much. I would rather try for Floyd or Huff, and not Lee, although he would definitely be a boost to the offense.

    It stems from them trying to trade him for ARod and putting him on waivers and a lot of other hard feelings.

    Really? Yes really. Hollandsworth for July: .206 .271 .365 .637 I don't remember, was Patterson that bad? The first move, fire Dusty. I think Patterson had worse numbers for an extended stretch of time. His numbers were better than that, but not by much, and for a much longer stretch.

    Thats why I could never be a mod. I get into too many altercations. Immagine if CT and I both became mods. It'd be a race to see who could ban who first. haha I want to be a mod...

    Nomo was in AAA under a minor-league contract for the Cubs. When he signed, the agreement was that he would make a certain number of starts then be called up or released. The Cubs wanted him to make a couple more starts, but he refused; so he was released, signed with the Brewers, and turned his career around. How come the retreads the Cubs hang onto never turn their careers around? I'm thinking about Larry Gura, Mat Keough, Dave Smith, Howard Johnson; Gary Gaetti had a nice comeback after they picked him up in 1998, but bringing him back for '99 was a mistake. Rick Reuschel was a better pitcher after his comeback than he was before his injury, but not until after the Cubs released him. Rusch has really turned out pretty well, so far... Neifi has been okay, but about what was expected.

    Stories on the front page of MLB.com: 1. A's Win 6th Straight 2. Yankees beat the Angels 3. Astros win in 14 with 3 run homer 4. Burnett beats Giants 5. Dunn hits walkoff, Reds manage to beat the Brewers,,, 6. Normal MLB.com bs... no mention of Cubs beating their biggest rival, the Cardinals with a grand slam in the tenth... except in news.
