  1. I remember when P&C reported in spring training, they were reporting about how good he looks, how his fastball looked faster, all the positive blah blah blah about him, then he gets rocked in ST games, and it never got better. 😅
  2. Good, glad they didn't prolong it
  3. I think given where theyre at with the luxury tax, and Hoyer might not want to give up too much or any of his top prospects, they may look more into acquiring these guys. Detmers, Hancock, Mize, Soriano, King Rental options Peralta, Ray, Gausman Also, they might look into adding a reliever and possibly a bat, so Hoyer just may be conservative with his prospects and also looking to stay under that 2nd tier with his additions.
  4. I keep checking X to see if Taillon been released yet, but i dont think itll happen til guys that are on IL start to return in mid August. I think 1 of 2 things will happen with him until then. Come Thursday or Friday they will place him on 15 day IL with some sort of arm fatigue or something like that and Assad or Civale will take his start on Friday. Or They just simply replace him Friday with Assad or Civale and he'll be that last man out of pen guy for them til they decide to release him later
  5. He needs to either volunteer to have shoulder pains for 2 months or release so he can hook up with a team that not contending to try and figure it out. No reason for him to make another start for the cubs again
  6. Yep, imagine game day the pressure on the position players feeling like they need to put up 10 runs before a pitch is even thrown. It's the total opposite and more of having that good feeling for games when that big Ace is on the mound and you know all you gotta do is get 1 or 2 runs and itll be enough
  7. Yeh, if the pitching can hold opponents to no more than 4 or 5 , theres a chance for this offense to cover it
  8. You make him throw 100 pitches no matter what... They start a big 4 game series with the Cardinals tomorrow, a team chasing them for a playoff spot. They cant burn through the bullpen now, why i said yesterday they wasted Assad with an 11 run lead, he could of given them 3-4 innings today to save the pen.
  9. Lmao, theres no way they trot this guy out there again, imagine the hitters taking the field knowing games are loss with him on the mound
  10. Happ not having his normal slugfest in Pittsburgh this series
  11. This is pathetic, they better DFA him tomorrow and Start Assad in his place next week
  12. Bottom of order getting it done... Ramirez has turned into a great addition to the lineup,
  13. Lmao... Taillon gives up so many homeruns that even when he gets a flyout everyone thinks its a homerun 😅😅
  14. Ashcraft has an over 8 ERA in last 4 starts, hopefully that continues today
  15. Wacha would be a big upgrade over Taillon Cubs need that top guy and could use an upgrade over Taillon. If Rea is more beneficial for them as a reliever, then adding a second starter like Wacha would be big for them. They can DFA Taillon and move Rea to the bullpen. New SP, Wacha, Imanaga, Boyd, Peterson/Cabrera Having both Assad and Rea in the pen would upgrade the bullpen
