  1. Yes, Caissie and even PCA when he gets ot going again are likely to spend the season in Iowa unless there's another significant injury later in season to an Outfielder. Hoyer will have a decision to make in offseason with all the Outfielders both on Cubs and their top prospects in Iowa and maybe even Alcantara.
  2. There's a difference in having guys who come off the bench here and there to spell someone a day off or PH now and then, and being depth to fill a position spot for a week(s) or month because of an injury. Those guys are not ones you want filling in everyday and getting 20+ AB a week because of an injury to a starter, cause the more they play everyday the more you see their weaknesses. Everyone keeps bringing up Tauchman OBP, he hasn't been bad lately, but realize his OBP was actually at .500 11 days ago because he was walked 8 times in his first 8 games, he has 1 walk since (11 games) and as we see his OBP has dropped significantly. I'm not thrashing Tauchman, but he's not a guy you want to give AB to everyday like they have been giving him between OF and DH, 2 starts a week is good for him as a 4th OFer.
  3. Future depth is good, not the current one.. Mastrobuoni, Madrigal, Cooper, Tauchman, and even Gomes now haven't exactly been guys you feel confident in when they start games. Wisdom is even off to a rough start so far. The pitching depth, yes taking a clearer look, I shouldn't of added them to that statement I made.
  4. They're due for a bit of bad luck/slump, the key will be when they do will the cubs be clicking to take advantage. Plus, outside of the Orioles, their opponents to date hasn't been all that great.
  5. Yep, game 1 yesterday hurt. Figured today was going to be a going toss because it was likely gonna be in the hands of the offense to put up a bunch of runs to win it.
  6. Yep, gotta hope he can turn it around and the bullpen as a whole can start to settle in until they can start adding outside upgrades. Maybe tomorrow Hoyer and Company should get together and see what they can do to readjust the 8 man pen with a few changes. Bring up a couple guys like Wesneski, maybe Wieck or whoever to give them the opportunity to get the job done. Keegan has stepped up so far, Little been ok, needs to get better with control, Hoyer needs to find the best 8 right now to go with between Iowa, the Cubs, and maybe look at someone from Tennessee.
  7. Yea, some guys should only see 10-20 AB a month, not in a week.. Their 0fers don't stick out as much
  8. Cause he has had success as one and they dont really have a guy now... Not sure if they have a potential one in the minors at Iowa or Tennessee, so they might have to wait til July to get one if still needed via trade.
  9. Fair to say, Hoyer did a terrible job with the immediate depth on both sides, hitters and pitchers.
  10. Cooper looks like a guy who should be slugging 40 bombs a year, not being a scrub bench guy
  11. Could of used that hit by Morel in any of those previous 3 ABs, hopefully this one can at least start a good rally
  12. This is a winnable game if the bats, other then Nico, can actually get a few of these baserunners home.
  13. I'll be shocked if he starts Saturday in Boston
  14. Another wasted opportunity to put runs/more runs on the board.. Now, Marlins are gonna get the 2 runs back and maybe more..lol
  15. A split at home against this Marlins club is pitiful.
  16. 4 hits in a row, he's done, he just can't get through an order twice.
  17. Need Morel to come up with a big hit here.. Lets Go
  18. Yep.. why i said before.. Mastrobuoni (who gone now), Cooper, and Madrigal may not be around long...
  19. He has since last season, part of me feel that could be a bit of his problem, maybe he should allow someone else to call pitches for him and can just focus more on executing them.
  20. If you had inning 2 for the HR given up, you're a winner 🤦‍♂️... At least it was a solo shot 🤷‍♂️
  21. If Hendricks continues the way he's going he does nothing but hurts the bullpen more because of the innings theyll pile up and he's basically an L every 5 games unless the bats bail him out.
  22. So, seriously, If Hendricks can't get through 5 today without looking like he's tossing BP, then tomorrow they seriously need to IL him and see if they can figure out how to help him be at least a guy who can get them a few good starts the rest of the season.
