  1. Cool, Sutcliffe and Boog together this series 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️😵‍💫
  2. None against the cubs, but he might get 1 against the Mets 😏😏
  3. He should just announce that this will be his final season afterwards.
  4. It officially hug watch time.. 🫂🫂🫂
  5. If Hoyer can play his cards right, he could get a good ready prospect out of this deal and use the money towards a solid FA hitter or in an offseason trade for a TOR that a team is looking to get out of contract. https://x.com/Feinsand/status/1816646287338377579?t=H78uUsMyaJMpcxwk1kFTug&s=19
  6. Wow, that big talk for a guy in his what 2nd full season and first as a starter... I'd trade his ass to Oakland after that..lol
  7. Right, they need to add and get better offensive production out of Catcher, 3B, CF, and DH for that matter, plus they're gonna need guys like Swanson, and Hoerner to really bounce back and then get a little more out of Busch, Happ, and Bellinger. So, I've said before that theyre not far off but they will need to also hope the guys that are a big part of this roster will be more productive next season.
  8. I dont disagree but that also need to include counting on the others to have a bounce back season.
  9. Cubs have a great shot at finishing 3rd for the lottery drop.
  10. 2 bats to replace who ? Which bats are you counting on to be much better going forward ?
  11. Cubs should revamp most of this roster for 2025, there isn't much that I would hold onto.
  12. Weren't they supposed to be competing this year ? he's not looking to add rental players this deadline, he's looking to add guys that can be a part of the team in 2025 and beyond.. that likely means trading for prospects that are ready or near ready, or for younger major league players under team control. If he didn't get the green light from Rickett to splurge and go over the Threshold this last offseason, I doubt he'll get to do it in his final contract year.
  13. He only 25, so the years or opt outs could depend on if he wants another crack at Free Agency at age 29 or 30. But I think he'd want at least 35 per
  14. If they're actually gonna get players this offseason to compete in 2025, then yes by all means keep Taillon, but my gut tells me that not going to be the case. So, why hold onto a 33 yo with 2 years left on his contract ? If they can get a decent return for him then make the deal. If rumors are true, there are several teams interested, so they could get a decent return for him and likely free up 36 mil over 2 seasons.
  15. As of now, PCA should be starting 2025 in Iowa.
  16. His players are failing him, all he can do is write out a lineup and use the guys he has, it's up to them to execute.
  17. I already said they can use it towards a bat but they can also put it towards an under 30 SP Taillon not exactly an innings eater, he's replaceable.
  18. If it'll take 36 mil off the book, I bet he would, and it doesn't have to be A ball.
  19. With the SP in their system, I think the Cubs would be ok getting a mid prospect or two in return while removing his 36 mil off the book. They can use that money towards a bat then
  20. Is 18 mil per over the next 2 years really too much for a 3/4 starter?
  21. Teams like the Yankees, Braves, Dodgers, maybe even the Orioles now will make that deal, 18 mil for the next 2 years won't hurt them.
  22. Taillon raising his trade value this game.. Let the offers begin
  23. Right, I would imagine we'll start seeing some trades for SP come this weekend as teams would want to have that extra start from traded pitcher if their spot comes up before the deadline.
  24. They also won't go over the Threshold, so I'm not sure what team will just unload someone that is good and under a team friendly contract that will keep the Cubs under the Threshold. I see what Hoyer said as an excuse not to add anyone of significance, and just say there wasn't anyone available for trade that he was looking for.
