It been reliant too much on Bellinger and Swanson to be in the thick of it all, theyre gonna need others to step it up when those two have off nights.

Happ would make a good 4th OFer, but if they can move him for a good SP even if they need to eat some money or add a prospect, they should make that deal.

We have no idea of where at or what this roster will look like in July of next season to say today he is blocked. If this kid at 21/22 ends up putting up solid numbers in AA and AAA, and looks like he ready for mlb action, you find a spot for him. I mean, outside of Amaya, Hoerner, Swanson, and Bellinger if he resign , no position player on this current roster is untouchable.

Shaw will likely end up being a multi positional guy like Zobrist/Morel to play everyday. It wouldn't surprise me if they had him play some corner OF next season in the minors to see if he can handle it. I'm hoping Hoyer put more focus on pitching and keeping Bellinger in the offseason.

I'd like to see Shaw end the season with the Smokies, and start next season there. Then next season see if he can get to Iowa and then make a push to the cubs in the second half.

The rotation will likely be their downfall if they dont play above 500 and continue to be a threat for the Division.. They need Stroman to come back and be sharp again along with Steele and at least one other SP to finish the season on top. Once they brought in Candelario, I was hoping for a good SP too at the deadline

He shouldn't survive the day, there has to be someone in Iowa that could come up and be an upgrade to him.. They just need a guy who can give them defense and be able to PH once in a while, heck I'd take Bote over Wisdom now
