  1. Busch looks like he still needs time in AAA. I wouldn't ink him onto the opening day roster just yet.
  2. Jed looking for any new players to bring to the convention. I'm more concerned about who he gave up for him 🙄
  3. Surprise a little that Hader is not on that list or one of the other closers. You'd think a closer or setup reliever is a target along with 2 of the bats.
  4. Stroman likely will be close to the last man standing of the mid range SP available
  5. Which is funny in a way because Boras complains alot about the Cubs not being players and when the supposedly do have offers on the table he waits it out
  6. I'll take all 4, but I guess the question is are they looking to add one or all 4, and how significant was their offers
  7. Too many serious people here 😅😅
  8. Not really, they have 2 full months to negotiate instead of 3. Most players are signed by February
  9. Most definitely, they hype up the GM meeting in December and not much happens there. So, I think November should just be about the awards and FA/trades shouldn't start until the GM meetings and end on February 1st. Trades can still happen.
  10. With the Convention 9 days away, you have to think they will make a significant signing and or Trade by then. Can you imagine going into the Convention with Craig Counsell as the only major addition to the team ?
  11. I dont disagree with you, I was hoping they would of let Hendricks go. I was just saying that probably why Hottovy said one starter was needed. He counting on the 3 I mentioned, Smyly and the younger guys. Maybe his 1 starter wish is a TOR type that moves Steele to 2 in the rotation.
  12. Cubs are probably holding tight on 6 yrs and 150 for Bellinger, maybe go up to 7/175 and hoping noone goes to 200. I'd be surprise if a team gives him the 250 he looking for
  13. The bullpen need my guess would be a LH and a closer. I can see why he would say 1 SP, they have Steele, Hendricks, Taillon, and a bunch of younger guys to start the season with.
  14. Lester and Maybe Bellinger in last 9 offseasons they have signed a guy they were linked to by the media. Why I don't get too much into rumors
  15. Have Hoyer/Epstein ever sign a guy that they were linked to by the media on day 1 of offseason outside of like last season with the 4 SS and they got the last one standing. Just seems like their offseason additions have been players that noone really connected to them or figured they would be in on them because of the price.
  16. He fits what they look for in a signing 🙄
  17. Just saying, The price for Bieber would have to be minimal for Jed to pull that trigger to acquire him. I doubt he is willing to give up one or two of his better prospects for him
  18. That true with Bellinger, have they ever acquired a QO guy recently? Bieber is a quality starter, it would have to be a low cost get for them to get a guy on his last year.
  19. I think for me once Bellinger is off the board and if he doesn't return, that when I'll be in the I dont care much anymore. Next would be Hoskins and then the 3 with QO attached to them in Chapman, Hader, and Snell and I'd be a bit surprise if they give up a draft pick by signing one. After those guys, there not much left that will wow me if they sign and I just dont see them giving up any of their top prospects to get back any real quality mlb player in return.
  20. Did they actually make one to Ohtani
  21. Kaplan lost his inside connection when Theo left... Seriously though, if the Cubs were front runners or have high interest in bringing Bellinger back then just make him a decent offer and see if he interested in returning. All this waiting until teams outprice what you're willing to spend on a player is stupid, you want a guy, go get him.
  22. You can probably start with a list of guys that can be had for minor league deals or 1-2 yr deals, that would be a long list 🙄🙄
  23. Is 5 mil per more if it comes to that really that big a deal, even if it for 7 over 5 yrs ? As far as Happ and Suzuki goes, trading them at the deadline or next offseason isn't a big loss IMO, either one or both might eventually be moved anyways if Caissie, Alcantara, and or Canairo show theyre ready to move up.
  24. For me at least, I would like to see them bring Bellinger back as yhe CFer, so PCA can get more seasoning in AAA, and when PCA is ready whether it this season or next, then they have options with Bellinger with the corner OF, 1B, and with DH.
  25. Something tells me they won't be seriously contending in July
