    I have been clued into the fact that CLTV is reporting the Cubs are feverishly trying to stamp out a 3way trade including Todd Walker, Kerry Wood, and minor league pitching for Kevin Mench and Barry Zito. Both Kerry and Walker would be sent to Texas, with prospects from both Texas and Chicago headed to Oakland. Note I am not saying this is a done deal, I'm saying it's obviously in the works.

    CHICAGO: Len Kasper is reporting that the Cubs have signed Brant Brown to a 3 year, 18 million dollar deal to play LF. Murton, a highly touted rookie, was also subsequently moved in a different trade today with fellow rookies Mark Pawalek and Felix Pie to the Diamondbacks for pitcher Russ Ortiz. When asked for comments, Jim Hendry replied "Didn't he win like 18 games or something once?". In the last move of a busy day for the Cubs, Delino DeShields was signed out of retirement by the Cubs to compete for a position at SS.

    He IS a White Sox fan, you know this, yes, Yoda asks? I didn't know that, actually - and it goes a long way to explaining some things. But what I detect from his writings is an air of personal disliking towards the Cubs, like Steve Stone. Maybe it's just me.

    I disagree. I just think those that know their antics won't be tolerated, or in some respects have been banned because of, are a little jealous of the contacts that this site has developed. Jealousy runs deep for some. Nah, they're not jealous - they just don't care. I visit both here and Desipio, and for different reasons. I was just pointing out a personal opinion with the sychophantic comment - but I really believe it, people love to jump on bandwagons here. In 03, love dusty, love hendry, - now, hate both. up until 2005, love corey - now, hate him. Everyone's always asking Bruce Miles questions when I think cpatt20 (even though I disagree with him on 99.9% of stuff), vance, diffusion, etc., know just as much if not more about the Cubs. edit: I will say congrats to the mods of this website for developing the contacts they have - it's very impressive and shows the amount of time put into this site. I just wish people had more of their own opinion sometimes, and were more supportive of the Cubs, example: booing Corey, how is that going to help anything when he's still a Cub?

    lol, my friend wasn't so lucky at avoiding studs - hence the two broken fingers. and YES it really was my friend, not me. I'm more of an inward-focused person when it comes to baseball hatred. I stew over it for a while, and swear to God I will never support those awful ballplayers again. And yet, next Sunday at 1:20, there I was. I came back to China before the 05 season started, and I remember talking to my friend about what I'd do if the Cubs made the World Series. Yea, isn't that hilarious now? 79-83. *puke*

    Well, dude, you know, I've never really had any good young players to play. I had Rich Aurilia, I sort of played him, hey, I played that Pedro Feliz guy too. You know dude, when I was playing with Hank Aaron, I was lucky if I got to bunt him to second base then clean his cleats later in the locker room!

    Hoops, aka Sanjay H, gets absolutely hammered at Desipio. You have to admit though, theres a big sycophantic feeling eminating from this forum - Hoops, Bruce Miles, it never ends.

    My friend put his fist through a support pillar in his basement, breaking two of his fingers. This is when the Cardinals came back from like 5 runs or something in the ESPN Sunday Night game, Renteria hit a walk-off jack to win it. Instead of hitting things, I just drank.

    This thread (and forum) reeks of cynicism and bitterness, so much that I can't even read this anymore. I'm not harping on anyone - I feel the same way myself. :( :( :(

    You keep saying this so I'll step up. NO, he is NOT worth 13 mil a year. But we aren't the ones offering him that much. We are offering 10 (TEN) TEN TEN TEN TEN TEN mil a year. Stop with this 13 nonsense. If the Dodgers want to offer that much then they can take him. Anyway, is he worth 10 (TEN TEN TEN TEN TEN), for the next 5 years? YES. Now, you tell me all the reasons why you think he is NOT worth 10 and I will rebute with why I think he IS worth 10. If you want an arguement, you got it. You begin. Furcal is worth 10, and I'd pay that. He isn't worht 13, but I'd pay that too. ONE HUNDRED YEARS SINCE A CHAMPIONSHIP! That's all that matters, not sitting at home thinking you're oh-so-smart because you have all the Cubs financial details worked out from your recliner.

    Go to one of your cafe's in China if you don't want a free discussion of ideas. Furcal is hardly the best free agent available to the Cubs. No - it's ridiculous. RIDICULOUS. People just want to complain. Don't ANY of you remember the days where the Cubs were satisified with Jeff Blauser being their big acquisition?
