    Joe Smith might not have the GB rate that Ziegler does but the rest of the numbers are pretty damn comparable over the last 4 years. He should be quite cheap in comparison. He wouldn't be a bad addition.

    Yeah when I started watching the Bears in the mid 80's the Bears I think lost maybe 2 times to the Packers until like 1991, the series lead was probably 30 games. So in the ensuing 50 games the Bears have to be like 10-40 since. Led 81-56 before 92

    Any chance we get Russell or Hendricks extended like the Phillies just did Herrera (5/30)? Herrera is 24, 2 years service time, 4 war each year. Seems like a great deal.

    The good thing is its supposed to be loaded with DBs which are our second biggest need so take 3-4 and a couple are bound to pan out. I would love if Pace got a haul in a trade back.

    I feel like if Pace puts together another draft like 2016 we could win the division handily. The only players I want us to stay away from that have been mocked to us are Peppers and Fournette. I'm good with Garrett, Allen, Adams, or a trade down, presumably so we don't reach on a QB and can get one in a proper slot.

    The most amazing thing about most of those returns is that they were one-cut and taken to the house. His vision was unparralleled. He made it look so easy . On top of all the scores, he had several more called back for penalties (some phantom calls) and many where he took it inside the 20 (and a few where he chose the wrong lane and might have missed out on more scores). His TD/return is unbelievable.

    Paging We Got The Whole 9. Paging... It's your time to shine, bud. I'm not that type of guy. I probably shouldn't have posted about him in 3 different threads - especially don't want to annoy a forum that's new to me, that I love reading and think there are several great posters I enjoy - but I just like the idea of adding that power lefty. It's not a matter of LOOGYs and getting lefties out, there aren't many hitters, period, who don't struggle with 95-97 from the LH side. So I think a guy like him, or Diekman, or the like, would add another dimension to the pen. Plus he has 3 years of control and if he comes as cheap as you guys suggested, that's a no-brainer to me. That's a guy who improves the pen IMO. But I'm not gonna come here with 'told ya so' type of crap posts. Honestly our FO turns over every stone anyway so if there is a name I'd like them to target, the probability is extremely high that they already have kicked the tires. I trust they will patch any weakness that remains. I'm still skeptical that we could get him for Szczur+, but we'll just have to wait and see.

    Howard approaching 1K before 200 carries. I like that. It can be frustrating to see a guy be under-used but it is also a good thing that we are keeping his rookie workload low. He's gonna be a damn beast next year and I think push for a 1500 yard season, which hasn't been done for a long time in Chicago. I'm also very optimistic for the team if Pace can nail the draft again. Upgrade the Tackles, get some more receiving options, and load up on the secondary, and life should be sort of comfortable for a rookie QB. I'm not sure if you want to go into next year with Barkley and rookie QB your 1-2. Is Barkley really that guy who you can depend on to mentor? Not sure on that. Hope he doesn't plan to trade for Romo or something like that. But the team is close. That defense is one of the better units in the league and if we can get some help in the secondary they could be dominant next year.

    Talking to a friend via a friend who works for a Tampa Bay newspaper and he thinks there's a strong chance that a Colome deal may happen not all too long after this Wade Davis situation plays itself out. Tryp, could we reasonably part with a package that would net Colome and Honeywell?

    Diekman would be a nice piece to work on. Averages 95 on a 2 seam from the left hand side but he hasn't controlled the walks yet. Still that pitch and his slider graded well last year. Only 2 years of control though.

    Philly is a real dark horse. They have a ton of young talent and a 30m payroll right now. They have as much potential as NYY does to go hogwild in FA at any given time.

    Perhaps I've over estimated Wilson's value but I doubt we could get him for Grimm alone. I understand he has another year of control but I still doubt it. It's about adding another dynamic to the pen. We have the finesse lefties but I think a power guy would be big. There aren't many lefties that average 95. He's basically a LH Strop, which is awesome. What would be your offer?
