  1. I didn't get to watch the game and I just now watched some highlights. Pulling Mitch was surprising but the perfect move. We had stagnated once again. The highlights don't even show his incompletions, but from what I've read he was horribly inaccurate on his deep passes as always. As I watched his completions there was more than a few where he threw to the wrong target IMO and that was mostly because he was locking onto his primary and not reading the whole field. The pick was atrocious. This is him in a nutshell. But then I watched Foles highlights and I wasn't impressed that much. He threw many balls off the back foot, i only saw a couple that he really stepped into. He threw into multiple coverage a couple times, had a few that should have been picked. He used his RBs effectively, the TD to ARob was 90% credit to ARob, the TDs to Graham and Miller were nice though. The GW was a beautiful play. Love being 3-0. I think we can beat our next 3 opponents. They won't be easy but I feel confident that we can get 2 at least. Robinson needs to not have completions taken away from him by opponents. That's 2 weeks in a row, and this one took 6 points off the board. Can't happen. He's too good for that. He had a good game, miles better than the first 2 weeks. Hopefully with Foles we can expect more. But he needs to stop getting punked.
  2. Good thing we have a huge cushion because it looks like nerves are getting to him.
  3. We better see Marquez today. Get his feet wet dammit.
  4. Julio is OUT today
  5. Man i really liked living on the west coast and basically rolling out of bed into a full day of football
  6. The Cubs offense has a major issue with launch angle. Even with all of those hard hit balls yesterday their xba for the game was 214. Look your just not gonna find much success consistently with single digit launch angles, like most of the Cubs hitters have. Most of their hard hit balls are horsefeathering grounders. Look: EV/LA 114.5/14 - lineout (ill buy the bad luck there) 113.6/-2 106.8/-26 104.7/23 (surprise, a two-bagger) 97.0/-20 96.5/-14 96.1/-14 94.6/32 (another double) I looked through the log from the day before as well and much of the same. 6 balls hit over 100 mph, 2 of them were double digit LA, one went over the fence. These guys just have seemingly poor pitch recognition (zswing-oswing is abysmal and they cannot lay-off the high fastball) and flat swing paths. And yeah I've said all this before so sorry if it's obnoxious. Another issue they have is their propensity to pull just about everything and make it easy for the defense, even on hard hit balls. Was it here that i saw that tweet about the Cubs have seen 300+ fastballs middle-middle and have only put 70 of them in play? I mean... that speaks for itself. Thats absolutely awful. Their approach is tremendously flawed.
  7. We struck gold in Tulane before. Here's hoping we've done it again.
  8. Anyone else think maybe there's a rift between Pace and Nagy? Or maybe one is brewing? Cohen and Travathan played something like 32 and 46% of their unit's snaps. Neither is even a thought in the waning moments and for most of the 4th quarter. Neither TE has been utilized like one would hope they would be, especially with a QB that struggles working the boundaries. That's usually a position that is a security blanket for a mediocre QB. Kmet was supposed to be a plug and play guy. Just a couple thought I've been having.
  9. Actually I had some ruminations I never posted in that how do you fix the cubs thread and one of them was NT Bryant to sign Springer
  10. Also do we really want to extend our 32 year old 1B who is showing plenty of his own decline?
  11. wth are you talking about? they ran him inside a couple of times! (I'm kidding, Nagy is absolutely puzzling sometimes Cohen played 32% of the snaps lol
  12. I'll take a 910 hitter any day, even if he rarely pokes one out
  13. Nico with a 20% K rate now They've found some cures for pitchers. Now they've gotta figure out the hitting thing. They are horsefeathering brutal.
  14. The guy that got the money got 6 touches and was vanquished for the 2nd half. The guy that wants money had 3 catches and some questioning his effort on multiple plays including an interception. Cohen hasn't been that impactful on a game in quite a while. That is going to be a big waste of money.
  15. Pagano made zero adjustments in the 2nd half. They were killing us in the middle of the field consistently. The team is not impressive. A wild card loss could happen though.
  16. Launch Angle Era done passed this team by. The dongs are gone.
  17. This offense is horrible right now but the rest of the team is pretty damn good. Im really happy that they've seized control of the division back after the last 2 seasons.
  18. Yankees donged 19 times in their last 3 games, including 5 in a span of 6 PA today. Like seriously wtf. That is absolutely ridiculous.
  19. Lot of late swings by Willy and Kyle. Awful ABs.
  20. Hell of a find this Adam dude. His release is wonky but the stuff is clearly a problem for hitters.
