  1. Yeah I have to believe this is true. 3-1 in particular, we usually take. But when we swing we hit a ton of lazy pops. Because I'm bored... 2-0 count: 13/31, 3 doubles, 4 HRs, .419/.438/.903, 221 total PAs 2-1 count: 17/51, 5 doubles, 2 HRs, .333/.321/.549, 309 total PAs 3-1 count: 9/32, 2 doubles, 2 HRs, .281/.680/.531, 144 total PAs Don't think there's a way to compare all the teams in these, but picking the Dodgers to compare (Cardinals have too few games, rest of the division sucks at hitting): 2-0 count: 8/38, 1 double, 1 HR, .216/.211/.324, 222 total PAs 2-1 count: 26/74, 6 doubles, 2 triples, 6 HRs, .351/.368/.730, 307 total PAs 3-1 count: 17/63, 4 doubles, 4 HRs, .346/.753/.654, 135 total PAs Based on this very small sample, yeah, take a lot in these counts, and the quality of contact for 2-1 and 3-1 is much worse (2-0 is weirdly much better). Thanks for doing that
  2. Jeffress got his K9 up to 6! Honestly to my eyes his stuff is nasty but hitters haven't had much problem putting the bat on the ball and his chase rate is way low as well.
  3. Jeffress was in attack mode tonight, not horsefeathering around
  4. Yeah I have to believe this is true. 3-1 in particular, we usually take. But when we swing we hit a ton of lazy pops.
  5. Wick giving up a lot of hard contact lately
  6. 800 touches in 3 years is not a lot at all...it isn't?! No, not really. David Montgomery had 267 which if done for 3 years would be 801. He was 12th in the NFL. I know times have changed. The red flag number used to be like 375 or so just a decade ago. But 265ish is far from being worrisome. In the same tier you'll find Jacobs, Hyde, Mack, Kamara - I don't see anyone worrying about their workloads. 2015 would be the last season that would fall into the top 10 (9th)
  7. Interested to know why, I don’t have a huge opinion either way I would be iffy about signing any RB who already has 3-4 seasons worth of mileage on his body. Fournette is at the low end of that range, but still, most RB's break down quickly 800 touches in 3 years is not a lot at all
  8. IIRC we were incredibly high on Correa and thought we could get him, the Astros had a scout at some game/showcase that wasn’t even there to watch him but saw Correa and they fell in love. But Theo was pretty confident we had a really good shot at Correa if the Astros didn’t snipe him. Raisin told me this I believe. Still had him too high though But I believe that story https://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/chicago-cubs/how-cubs-almost-landed-carlos-correa-their-franchise-shortstop
  9. They have a team wRC+ of 68. Please shut them the horsefeathers down.
  10. Interested to know why, I don’t have a huge opinion either way Hes more built for the power scheme, would be my guess. Before last year I would have just said the same, that he's a North South bruiser and nothing more... but then he went and caught 76 passes after combining for 58 his first 2 years. He didn't turn out huge yardage with them or set a career high in catch rate, but thats still an added dimension to his game, proving there might be more untapped potential. His ypc also had a nice uptick. Im interested. I think he's overrated but we can surely use him.
  11. He was Theo's first pick. Oh I know. But his profile was like a Hendry type. Thats what I meant.
  12. Such a Hendry selection. It really surprised me when Theo was so high on this dude.
  13. I really want Marte. Add more guys that bring a different dynamic to the offense. He won't walk and he does chase more than i like but he also won't whiff, has plenty of power, and something we really need IMO- speed. This station to station offense gets very stagnant. Hes usually very efficient as a base stealer, 75% on his career and hasn't slowed down, notching 58 over the last 2 seasons. Plus he knows the division well and we'd have an option for next year. Hope we can land him.
  14. 11 unintentional walks + 2 HBP in 45 batters faced I'd rather give a guy like Rea a chance in a pinch. At least he won't beat himself.
  15. How ill always remember him
  16. Well, TLS and Castellanos thrived last year also. Its really a meaningless sss. Dom Smith and Clint Frazier are having coming out parties also but let's see these guys produce like this during a 6 month slog before we give much credence to it.
  17. Hey but they've mastered the rollover grounder on outside pitches That is, when they make contact These guys horsefeathering suck
  18. Apparently we are talking to DET about Maybin Career 85 wRC+ Vs LHP 2019 96 2018 80 2017 73 What in the world
  19. Just get everybody's favorite pinniped back Dude has 15 BB to 7 K and 12 XBH Absolute no-brainer
  20. Yeah Mooney said they basically don't view Carraway or Marquez as viable options this year
  21. Just read it too. horsefeathers the Astros. I had kind of forgotten about that horsefeathers that Gurriel had done. And then 22 batters faced and 0 Ks... for Yu Darvish? And they all just yukked it up as they cheated their way to the title saying he was tipping pitches. Absolute joke of a championship.
  22. Honestly they should grab Cody Reed too. Hes probably not any good but could be better than a couple clowns we have in the pen.
  23. Gutless. Choking. Dogs. I'm kind of sick of them all but I cant give them up.
