  1. All night we've looked jumpy and have swung through just about every fb in the zone
  2. That horsefeathering blows
  3. Acuna has thus far cut his career K rate in half and is currently on pace for 15 fwar But of course, so is Mike Trout
  4. Burnes is kind of unbelievable. His stuff is filthy and he just notched his 40th K before he's issued a walk.
  5. I mean we are like 15 games in to the year, how is that given? It literally would take a few games of little contact to drop him outside the top 5-10 probably. I'll put the house on it Hes swung and missed i believe twice this year. I dont expect his rate to drop much. And its unlikely the guys under him raise their contact that much to pass him.
  6. Wasn't sure if I should put this in here or the general baseball thread But it appears to be a given that Nick Madrigal is going to lead the league in contact (97.6; 4 pts higher than 2nd place) Has a rookie ever led that category?
  7. Later in the 7th he let Yermin Mercedes pitch. Maybe 2 dominoes to fall!
  8. Pip's eldest son died, only 33 years old. Cause of death unknown.
  9. Haven't seen it discussed here anywhere but Olney is reporting that Baez turned down our 180m offer before last season. Javy has 1 and 2 year offers waiting for him in FA IMO. Nobodys gonna want to lock that bat up unless he posts a 2018 line again and even then the suitors will be few.
  10. Another sickening AB by Javy
  11. We are talking about 2 divisional champs facing off tonight. Additionally the Padres and Dodgers have 5 more series to play against each other. People are annoying.
  12. Javy is on pace for about 10-12 walks and 250-275 Ks, depending on how many games he plays. Dude has lost about 20 points on his contact rate, sitting at 47%. No plan at the plate other than swing away. We cannot be considering offering a contract. We need to push all of our chips in the SS derby this winter and move the hell on.
  13. You just know they're gonna (not) get the 5th pick
  14. Off a LHP; albeit not a great pitch
  15. The least adaptable hitters ever assembled. I dont even get upset anymore, its too hysterical how useless they are.
  16. They suck enough that they can afford to extend Maples a long leash right now. The K% is outrageous.
  17. Its really pouring salt in the wounds when your pitcher gets touched up early. Im not a fan of this one much.
  18. Our LHB [emoji23] Banging their horsefeathering heads into the wall. Through 10 games Happ, Rizzo, Joc, Heyward have combined for like a 500 OPS. 2 doubles among them. Why is it so hard for these guys to find a gap or shoot it down the line?
  19. Brothers has a nearly 8:1 KBB, could be interestingNot in his walk year. True but there would be heavy interest if he proves to be a versatile multi-inning high-velo LHP. He should be shopped.
  20. Maybe we’ll get more value starting our sell off in June vs July It's really possible. I think if nothing else, the Cubs have 10 (!) guys in their walk year that depending on performance could be attractive trade chips. KB Rizzo Baez Joc Kimbrel (club option) Davies Arrieta Chafin Workman Tepera If the team is out of it, you probably want to clear the deck a bit in June or early July so you're not juggling ~5 trades the week before the deadline. Brothers has a nearly 8:1 KBB, could be interesting
  21. Yeah Javy chasing and wet water and all that but he also swung right through a dead-center 93 mph meatball
  22. We will be rueing the day we threw Caratini into a deal we already got the short-end of if Willson doesn't wake the horsefeathers up. The guy is currently rocking a sterling 60% contact rate while barely swinging at half of the pitches in the zone. These guys are being humiliated and its appalling how slow they are to adjust.
  23. Ohtani is such a badass! I love this dude's oppo power. He really understands his swing so well and hammers tailing 2 seams. Then he blasted a shot 380 feet to RCF on a breaking pitch he was obviously fooled on and gave an "excuse me" swing on. Just missed a HR there.
  24. Musgrove just threw the first no hitter in Padres history 10:1 Thats also 31 scoreless IP for him going back to last season Vic has caught 2 no-hitters in the span of about 3 regular-season weeks
