    Not even Soler put up this combo of inhuman power and mastery of the strike zone that Canario did in July. I love how he shows power to all fields consistently.

    I don't think the 40 man is going to be a huge consideration. The ultimate cause for that is the pandemic and many other teams are dealing with similar or worse crunches, so Rule 5 is going to be littered with a bunch of similar cases. There's gonna be plenty of room for the prospects that are potential first division starters, and they'll be risking some potential middle relievers or 4th outfielders in the worst case scenario. Plus if that were the main cause, it stands to reason they could've pulled off something like the Darvish trade, where all the pieces were ages away and didn't need rostering for a while. I really don't want to lose Slaughter :shrug:

    The Cardinals will find a way in the future with trading away some of their top prospects simply because they're the Cardinals. Somehow these two low-to-middle size payroll teams (Cards & Brewers) seem to stay competitive while we have to go into 3-4 year rebuilds after becoming competitive. the Cardinals draft & develop amazingly well Their 5th rounder from last year was basically called a plug and play 4th starter and is graded a 50. The HS SS they took in the 2nd in 2020 is a 50+, excelling in AA already. On top of that they landed a 60 3B after we took Wicks. That is what's most infuriating to me. They're just simply better than us at every turn.

    Castellanos definitely sucks total ass this year and should be pulled off of the field forever if they're being honest. Happ would be a nice bump in defense. You're probably right but that would be a tire I would kick. Realmuto could make him available and he looks like a really good hitter and good defender.

    The most expendable of the top 30 is crazy pants horsefeathers to say. You want to say, most expendable of the top 10, make the argument; you won't find too many who agree, but whatever. Saying most expendable of the top 30 is simply a misuse of the term, expendable.
