  1. ****** job by Turner. Should have gotten Schwarber to 3rd and Harper would have had the SF.
  2. I know the gameplan limited the impact he could have but damn our rookie RT handled Crosby really well with one arm, Technician.
  3. I don't like how little he incorporates the lower-half to make some of these throws. A lot of throws where he's standing still and flat-footed, feet barely separated. I think that should be cleaned up and he has to stop the fadeaway throws; those will lead to erratic accuracy and most likely, turnovers. It's pretty annoying how he does that. Like straight-up 100% arm throws. I do give him credit though for going through the progressions and maneuvering to open up passing lanes. I think you have to credit him for his vision and there's some plays in there that he uses his eyes well to confuse defenders. It's also interesting how, as a rookie QB, usually they check down to the RB a thousand times - and if he had, there were 2 wheel routes that probably go for explosive plays, if not 6 points. Massive open fields. But he actually hung in the pocket and made solid throws in the middle of the field instead of defaulting to the safe throw.
  4. I really thought the tide was going to turn with Altuve's G5 blast. Super impressive that Texas beat their asses like this.
  5. That might have been the nail. Garcia just wearing them out.
  6. Rangers creating runs with aggressive base running. Javier out in the 1st inning.
  7. Yeah letting Jaylon walk would be beyond idiotic. Spotrac projects a modest contract anyway. Get it done.
  8. Justin's lack of pre-snap anything has actually been a criticism I held in my back pocket simply because we've only had like 2 QBs who could orchestrate an offense like that in the last 20 years and I'm just so used to not seeing it. The things that Fields doesn't do are really apalling.
  9. I think the power is there. It's probably the intent that needs to develop. He hits the ball hard but he's definitely not trying to launch everything yet.
  10. They NTd him because he was terrible in 2020 and a player who was equally terrible in 2020 but could still fake it in the OF was available for like a million less. He hit 47 HR this year and didn't even slug 500; didn't even really come close. He walked 40 more times this year than the career-high he set last year, which is insane to think about for any 30+ year-old player not named Barry Bonds. He is probably going to pass Manny after Altuve does, and good for him. I still enjoy watching a Schwarbomb; I don't believe they made a massive mistake letting him go.
  11. I'm glad the Cardinals gave Garcia and Arozorena away
  12. It's still bewildering to me how a player with a great jump shot can't hit a lick of 3s in this day and age. Sure looks like Jerry doesn't give a horsefeathers if his team can compete for rings with the juggernauts that are in the league. Good camaraderie FTW lol
  13. Triantos HR is here
  14. Love seeing a guy respond to an 0-fer like that
  15. Just a devastating blow from Altuve. Rangers are gonna be having nightmares for weeks. I don't think you recuperate from that.
  16. Take it back 20 more years and all you add is the Jims and Cade McNown. I feel like this a bad approach for a team that has basically had one franchise QB in their entire history.
  17. The Cubs made a HUGE mistake not getting Betts. Worse than Harper.
  18. You really just described a Fields start
  19. Oddly, I kind of liked the different dynamic that Castellanos offered our offense, being a free-swinger who actually didn't strike out a million times, in contrast to the patient-too-the-point-of-passivity hitters we had surrounding him and Baez. But he's a known butcher in the field and has never hit so much to hide that, as Schwarber has at times. It's too bad that Schwarber tanked so hard in the Covid year, but at the end of the day, at his very best he's never posted a 3 war season.
  20. It's not the money, it's the entitlement. I think it sets an awful precedent and man are you gonna have a lot of egg on your face if he busts. Trevor Lawrence looks like just a good QB, Andrew Luck was never the best QB in his league, Vick was a more hyped athletic specimen, etc. There's been plenty of these generational QBs that just turn out to be OK, but not otherworldly - and that's fine - I mean, they are/were still good - but to make any player, before they've even taken a snap in the league, even the smallest minority owner, is just an asinine thought to me. I'm sure some teammates would take umbrage as well, although that is down the list of issues I would care about.
  21. If it's true I hope he goes to the USFL
  22. That was my biggest issue with Cutler. He rarely climbed the pocket or stepped into his throws.
  23. That was Cutler like 80% of the time.
  24. It happens sometimes, sure, but when they're depleted like that, it is very unlikely to happen.
  25. Whichever team has the worst QB + targets situation. Pats, Broncos, Giants I see no shot of any of those teams not having top 10 picks in the 25 draft. The Pats roster is worse than the Bears. They and the Giants have scored 72 and 71 points respectively. The Giants have already been outscored by 96 points.
