  1. I understand people are anxious about 2024 but the high-aversion to letting a couple rookies plug holes is a little weird to me, especially considering what happened the last time the team went all-in on their prospects.
  2. There are a lot of Bears players in Fields' corner. I wouldn't say discarding him would be less of a distraction necessarily. Draft Williams and make him QB3. Take a page out of the much-maligned Packers book and groom your prospect.
  3. I would not cry to the heavens if Jed passed on both and kept playing the long game. I said it before but I don't think Bellinger provides enough of an upgrade over what they could get from Tauchman and PCA this year. There's a pretty decent shot PCA provides 18-20 WAR over his first 6 years. Instead I would buck in the opposite direction and try to see if PCA would take a Colt Keith deal. He probably wouldn't but I would at least open the dialogue. I am kind of indifferent on Chapman. On one hand, the defense in rock-solid and he has never had a bad offensive season. But on the other he's RH and pretty redundant in our lineup. However, I don't have the same confidence in our internal options, mostly because of defensive questions. So on a short deal, I would understand if they went with him.
  4. Contract discussion similar to Chappelle's old bit on hostage negotiation: "We want 8 years, two..." *click* "Hello?"
  5. I think they deserved each of those penalties
  6. Lions pass on a 45 yd FG to go up 3 scores and get stuffed on 4th. 9ers storm back for a TD.
  7. Flowers was the only one making plays too but that drive will haunt him. Lions looking good. Winning the battle up front.
  8. Except for the numerous examples where your statement is flat out wrong, sure.
  9. WGAS
  10. What was the league average for teams in this stat?
  11. They are definitely banking on internal improvements like Palencia and Little and hopefully someone else pops up. There are a lot of players in the system that could fill those holes, i.e. Brown.
  12. Well it's glaringly apparent the Cubs refuse to spend 10+ on a RP. Not that i'm complaining, just observing. I thought we might swoop in on Robertson. Hope we can get Stanek for 7-8.
  13. Boras did that for a client that had 2 teams back out of 10 year deals due to health concerns, right? There's a lack of interest in giving him 8 years but it appears that he might have multiple 5-6 year offers. Reading the tea leaves - 6/150 is about the max teams are willing to go. I've gotten the impression that he has multiple offers in that range. i think if he had posted some 5-6 win seasons recently teams might capitulate with a short-term, high AAV, but even credited as a 4 win season, I'm not sure his case merits that, Hoskins was effectively off the table when they traded for Busch
  14. You still thought they might sign Hoskins?
  15. There was one year where we signed Jacque Jones and that was about it
  16. Rough loss. Tale of 2 halves, couldn't close the deal.
  17. FTR, I do not believe players are greedy. I think some of them are slightly delusional.
  18. So Feinsand says that only one of the colluding owners has authorized an offer to Snell. 6/150 and he turned it down. Thinks he's earned a 200M contract reportedly. Sounds very familiar.
