The way he's pitching right now is as someone you could trust giving the ball to in the playoffs. I imagine his market is going to be robust and hard for Jed to say no to.
Neris' value is not hinging on whether he is flawless over the next 7 days or not. He's a very well-known commodity. Not very valuable as-is, but enough for someone else to take on the risk of 2025.
His last 8-10 starts his metrics have actually been that of the exact type of pitcher a playoff team should want. Something like a 50:5 KBB. I'm optimistic. Get him while he's cooking. The Cubs send 10M back and the return could be quite good.
