  1. That's actually pretty amazing. We don't need to think so rigidly. You can find amazing value this way.
  2. I didn't realize Pablo is so young. I'd far prefer him to Castillo.
  3. Never gave a horsefeathers. That man was the only reason to watch after Kerry lost it until 2003. 292 HR in a 5-year span will never be topped. Let's not forget that he was 30-30 twice and 20-20 twice before the steroids. 2004 was ugly but that season broke all of us and closed the chapter on one of the most exciting times we had as fans. Gonna watch a reel now. And those bombs he hit off the Marlins were insane. I can't imagine what it was like living in the neighborhood at that time.
  4. The thing that has always jumped out to me with Shaw is the oppo% and I believe he will have to adjust. KB was an oppo monster in MiLB and almost completely removed it from his game in 2016 and intermittently found success thereafter. He likely found it more difficult to let the pitch travel against big leaguers, but Wrigley's preposterously deep RF and inviting LCF surely had something to do with it. I'm sure teams are gonna challenge the hell out of him to pull fly balls. Javy and Sammy hit a lot of oppo homers but there weren't many that had consistent success doing so. The Cubs are gonna hammer him with the league success of pull/oppo and we will see if his rates normalize a little more in MLB. The MLB hitter he reminds me of is Matt McClain. He obviously had a lot of success in his one year, so we will see.
  5. I agree and feel like they will all take 1 or 2 year deals. Right up Jed's alley. I think Minter and Yates would be absolutely insane and give us the best pen we've ever had.
  6. I shouted this pretty much all year but his floor is that high. Just hope his reckless abandon doesn't send him on lengthy IL stints.
  7. I don't really know their roster but there's not a bench player worth talking about?
  8. Had an article pop up on my feed saying the Yankees should trade for Tristan McKenzie and I'm low-key hoping Carter beats em to the punch, but maybe there won't be room for him.
  9. They probably insisted on Caissie or Alcantara and he's not worth that coming off of the season he had and the questions of his health.
  10. If PCA goes down do they use Tucker in CF or just call up Alcantara?
  11. Wow feels a bit like 16-17 again. If PCA hits, look out.
  12. Teams are only 15-12 when their QBs throw for 500, almost added another loss with Goff coming 6 yards short.
  13. Jed knows what's available better than we do and if he's going after Luzardo he believes he is the best of the bunch and has the expendable ammo to make it happen.
  14. In this scenario, Minter makes perfect sense if they won't go after Scott. They love reclamation projects and his ceiling is significant. Might take 1/9 with a option for 11 for 2026 or something like that. I kind of believe we have enough RHRP to piece things together, but we are in dire need of a LHRP IMO.
  15. 2 players had big wide open touchdowns today and decided to drop the ball right before the goal line lol How can players be so dumb. Just hold the damn ball.
  16. Triantos and Caissie probably do have about equal value considering the SB chops Triantos just displayed and Caissie might hack it in LF for a few years before moving to DH. I'm skeptical of his value outside of the bat. They quite possibly could both be peak 3 win guys. I'd rather hold onto Caissie because our immediate OF picture could get dicey pretty quickly in the next couple years. I'm starting to feel like Alcantara isn't on the table for Jed this year.
  17. Glad they're building around Rooker
  18. The Brewers weren't afraid to hand the keys to a rookie(s) and let him take his lumps and they ran away with the division. There's enough cover in the lineup to throw Shaw to the sharks. Similarly they're not afraid to put rookies on the bench either. It's up to Counsell and staff to put them in advantageous spots and develop their games.
  19. I'd trade Aliendo. Ramirez, and Gray for him
  20. I really hope Amaya has been working like a dog to improve defensively this winter, becoming more flexible and explosive.
  21. I'm thinking Tucker should command a salary not too far below Soto's, right? We're talking about a more complete player and more of a chance to provide defensive cover for 5 or so years. He's probably thinking he should get 12/500 or even 600 if he has another monster year like that.
