  1. If I am recalling correctly, the last time the Bears were aggressive to add veteran talent on the OL like this was with Tait and Brown, exactly 20 years ago.
  2. It wouldn't surprise me. The unit was better than Caleb often made them look.
  3. Stop horsefeathers around and roll with Workman and Cowles. Both look like productive hitters in due time. They're 25 years olds with 2000+ pro PA. Don't waste your time with Brujan or Lopez.
  4. Go hogwild in trades and FA and don't rely on draft picks to produce. They have a billion dollars.
  5. Don't put it past Poles to trade-up to fufill a coach's wish. Johnson could very well be looking at Jeanty as his Gibbs, it would not surprise me. Can't wait to see cwood's reactions when Jeanty is a Bear.
  6. Almost 11 of that is dead on KC https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/player/_/id/19028/joe-thuney
  7. So do we extend him for another year or two or just rent for 2025? He's 1/16 right now.
  8. Reportedly Fernando Cruz hurt his shoulder on a headfirst slide in his first game last year and that affected him dramatically all season.
  9. Even if we take situations out, a strikeout is certainly not worse than a hitter feebly putting a ball in play on a pitch out of the zone. Who cares if they made contact and put the ball in play; it was a pitch that shouldn't have been swung at and had a negative outcome on the team. Should the player be celebrated for doing a poor job?
  10. Guy probably got nominal pay to write this article saying that Cubs fans shouldn't be surprised Tucker doesn't have a hit yet because he has also struggled in the postseason https://fansided.com/cubs-are-learning-a-kyle-tucker-lesson-that-astros-fans-know-all-too-well
  11. I know exactly who that is. What a shame.
  12. No video for PCA or Mo HR last night?
  13. I'm thinking Brant Brown too
  14. Cubs roared back from down 8-2 to take another tie lol
  15. This guy will tear his ACL some day
  16. I'd like to see the 2-run double Long just hit
  17. As much as I loved Lofton and Karros was a solid addition, losing Choi and CPat was such a huge bummer in 2003. Makes you think about what might have been. CPat had a friggin 500 SLG, he was a menace up until that injury. The injuries basically happened a month apart, such a kick in the dick.
  18. I like this game and wish it was daily. We're bored.
  19. It sure looks like Jorge's swing
  20. Cowles hit one off the wall the first time and just cleared it in his next ab.
  21. Bryant made too much and produced too little and that was pretty well known before the trade. He didn't have many interested suitors. The projections were not great. Nobody thought much of the package at the time and it was pretty clear last year that the return would be the worst of those deadline deals.
  22. I doubt they GAF. What's the consequence?
  23. Projections are fun but some of you guys are absolutely married to them. The horsefeathers Brewers outplayed theirs by like 10 games last year. The Turner add is largely about competence/"professional hitter" and his extensive experience. Maybe he can also help de-code the Dodgers slightly, who knows. To me that is definitely a signing that they feel very confident will hit well and help lead a team that is quite short on playoff experience. He's the kind of guy we should want influencing some of our younger hitters. Amazing approach, consistent, will get on base and produce above-average power, situational hitting.
  24. I think it's universally accepted that Jim Brown was the greatest RB of all-time. As much as I/we/Bears fans always want to push Payton, Brown is always at the top of the list. The man would have had 2 2K seasons in 16-game formats.
