One other thing . If you don’t belief in spending in relievers , it would be nice if they could develop relievers that strikeout people out with low walk rates . Seems like most organizations are able to do it . For the Cubs it’s a mistery for the most part . Brown looks legit . Most of the guys that have are like Palencia / Little in terms of having no idea where the ball is going .

Even if they did have the flexibility , they won’t do it . It’s againts Jeds beliefs to add premium talent . They will look for the next Swanson instead .

Counsel isn’t looking so smart with this roster .

If they are going to fire coaches because of things they don’t do well , they will need to clean house . They don’t run the bases well , they don’t play defense . Really the only area that this team is good is SP .

I didn’t watch Sunday with Gray and I am going to pass on this one . Really don’t care what Peralta era is . This team is just brutal to watch . They will hit better at some point , but if they continue to run the bases the way they are and playing bad defense , they will be selling come trade deadline . Good luck to those who will see this one .

Swanson with a 79 wrc and showing signs of declining defense already . Only 5 more years left after this one on that deal

Negative RD now , bad defense , bad BS . The soon to be 500 Cubs . Ricketts and Hoyers dream team . Ricketts stays under the tax and Jed is already dreaming about selling at the deadline .

Michael Busch has a 34.9 k rate at the moment . That’s not going to work , especially with his defense at 1B. If this continues o wonder if the Cubs will target Christian Walker next offseason .

If Suzuki was the best defensive RF in Japan , there weren’t too many good ones n that league . This team is really bad defensively , this is not a defensive slump .

Really don’t know what they can do with Alzolay . I don’t remember any pitcher getting hit this hard on the air . I know MLB is on top of the phantom injuries this year , but they may need to try it . -

Things got difficult in a hurry here for a team that’s 6 over . Jones / Skenes / Braves then most likely Jones / Skenes again and Braves . Pitching staff will need to carry them most likely here . Wouldn’t expect a lot of offense -

If the league continues to cut down on the percentage of fast balls he sees , he probably will be a below average hitter. It was good for him when he was hitting behind Acuña and in front of Riley in Atlanta Not the case here . If the fielding starts going south , it’s going to be rough watching him for the next 5 years . But hey they didn’t give Correa 10 years or Bogaerts 11 or whatever it was he got !
