    Good , no drama from Webb. Need to keep putting big numbers on offense for obvious reasons. Series w , nice job . With that said , a sweep wouldn’t hurt

    Bregman doesn’t have a hit tonight but swing seems to be in a much better place right now . Hopefully he has a big 2nd half

    I wouldn’t say Thielbar is in DFA territory yet , but he better be careful with the trade deadline getting closer . Cubs will need to make more than 1 move on the pen to go along with a SP

    Counsell is just going with seniority . They really don’t have much options with Rolison pitching in 3 of 4 . . Good news is Phil Maton is returning soon !

    Because he has walked he has been okay but would like more power. Reality is that there are very few left handed bats that hit for power againts lefties . And he usually hits close to Happ and Happ is worthless againts lefties .

    I know pitching is the priority as it should be , but I wonder if they will look to add a right handed 1B that hits for power againts lefties . Busch has done a nice job getting on base againts lefties , but he can’t slug againts them . He can’t slug againts anybody actually this year . I think they will look for a cost controlled SP regardless , but if they can’t get that , the quality of the rental will depend on how close they are to Milwaukee They will add at least 1 high leverage arm , if not two in the pen

    Don’t like Sunday games when the Cubs are trying to avoid a sweep , especially against the Cardinals . Their 2B is going to be a problem for a long time . I will skip this one as they seem ready to get into another month long slump on offense and honestly can t watch Bregman anymore . Good luck you all Edit : starting to wonder if allowing Busch to play everyday has hurt him overall . He isn’t hitting for power even againts righties

    Not me ! Not watching tomorrow . The way this season has gone , they probably average like 2 runs per game until the all star break . Hello 500 again !

    This is just laughable at this point with Bregman . What a disaster they got into . The one time Hoyer decided to get agressive with a top FA and this is what they got

    How close would the Cubs have to get for Hoyer to consider going for Skubal ? I don’t think he will go there personally, but just wondering ? I see them all in on the Angels pitchers however and if the Giants decide to move Webb , I see them heavily involved as well

    9 ground balls and no home runs allowed with the wind blowing out. I believe this is a direct result on the adjustment they made . More pitches away both with the fastball and splitter
