Cubs are a lock for the playoffs , they say -
Brewers will probably get swept this weekend by the Reds on purpose and then take 4 of 5 or all 5 from the Cubs next week .

Ricketts is preparing a 1 year extension for Tucker as we speak . Thinks he can get a bargain .

Willy Castro was a nice fit because the bench was awful . He wasn’t going to save the offense . He was in a bad slump as well when the trade happened. They have bigger problems than Willy Castro .

They probably won’t play any sort of playoff game this year. This is trending like the year they had about 90 percent playoff odds entering September and somehow blew it . Don’t remember the year 23 / 24 ? Same garbage every year . We get to hear Hoyer talk about how the offense broke in his end of the season presser .

The lead is 5 now , 6 in loss column I believe . I still think they are blowing this . I seen this movie before with this team .

I could totally see Lopez unfortunately , but a 40 spot would need to open .

If it is as bad as it looks they could put Miguel on the 60 IL and open a 40 spot for Cassie

There isn’t a dfa candidate on the roster ? Would like to see Cassie . Moises would work as well

Lopez is not needed with Castro on the roster . I am tempted to bring Cassie up tbh . Keep him in the lineup most days againts righties while giving the other OFS days off . Maybe he has a couple of hot weeks in him before the league adjust .

So now the question is , who comes up to take his roster spot ? McGuire will be the backup the rest of the year . Who comes up ? Alcantara , Long , Cassie ?

Might as well try Shaw leading off for a few games ? I know lineup construction doesn’t matter a whole lot , but just have a different look and see what happens ?

I wouldn’t expect much next offseason . Jesse Rogers has implied several times that they aren’t interested in signing big long term money deals until they know how the new CBA looks like . ( That will be the excuse ) .

With the way this team is hitting and 8 of the next 11 againts Tor / Mil / I could see a 3-8 coming . Hopefully the Reds don’t play well the next 2 weeks .

They will end up losing this division by 10+games 😂. If the Reds get in any sort of good run here , things could get really interesting in a non fun kind of way .

Hopefully Carter Hawkins goes once his contract is up . They need someone with a more agressive mindset than him with Hoyer . They probably have the most conservative and boring front office in baseball . With that said with Hoyers extension done , I imagine his is not too far behind , unfortunately
