    Wind supposed to be blowing out with Taillon pitching , not great . Flaherty has been better lately and still strikes people out . Not feeling great about this one but who knows ? Maybe they win 12-10

    Pretty good chance Civale will get some innings with Taillon going tomorrow . If not maybe he gets piggybag with Peterson . I absolutely hate Taillon is kicking Asad out btw . I read something about the Cubs getting an extra year of control with Asad if he goes down 15 days .

    I think I like Pedro more than Shaw . My main concern with Shaw is hitting RHP .. Not sure if he will fully develop into a regular player . Would love for the Twins to struggle , so Ryan becomes more of a realistic option . Not sure what I would give up however with half a year and who knows what more left on his deal

    Problem with Shota is that there is no in between with him . You just have to pray he is in a good spot when the playoffs come . If he isn’t he isn’t worthy of a roster spot especially in a best of 3 . Boydcis such a key pitcher . With Boyd pitching well and hopefully an impact SP via trade they are in good shape on a best of 3 . I don’t mention Cabrera because he has been so underwhelming . Unfortunately I don’t trust him to start a game . I know he will if healthy ,but i just don’t trust him . Hopefully he can fix whatever is wrong with him. I would say though that his stuff seemed to have been back at the time he got hurt . Edit ; Shota is such a huge wild card as well .

    IIRC Williams first choice was the Cubs in the offseason , Jed didn’t want to pay that much for him . I also believe Williams is a mid west guy

    Devin Williams maybe ? The walks are way up so far , but he doesn’t deserve the high era he has . 2 years left at 15 AAV . With that said Luke Weaver looks really good and he has close before . Problem with Weaver is basically all contenders want him Edit : Williams isn’t the guy he was with Milwaukee , just wanted to clear that up , but he still striking people out

    The update on Palencia sounds a bit iffy tbh . Even if he comes back they will probably need to be careful with him ( no back to backs ? ). I wonder if they will look for more of a reliable closer now instead of just 2 guys

    Well at the least they will gain ground on Mia and Stl . That wild card race will be tough . Those 7 games against Pit and St Louis before the deadline are shaping up to be very important .

    Good to see they have bounced back offensively . Was a little worried about Bradley today with the power stuff . Need to keep scoring however . Far from over

    Right now ? More like the last 2 months . The break doesn’t look like it help him . Hopefully they turn it around quickly . Would be really unfortunate to slump before the deadline. I know it’s just 1 game , but with how streaky they have been , I worry about a bad streak coming out of the break

    They are making Ober look like Nolan Ryan all of the sudden

    Twins can hit . You can’t horsefeathers around and let opportunities go away . They make you pay eventually . Would hate to not take advantage of Buxton not been there .

    On paper the Cubs caught a huge break because they aren’t getting Skubal in the Tigers series as well . They will get Melton however and I haven’t checked the under the hood stuff on him , but era looks good

    Hopefully the Tigers decide to pitch Skubal Sunday . Don’t want them to run into Ryan and Skubal . Ryan is most likely going Sunday . The schedule coming out of the break is sneaky difficult . They could get both Ryan and Skubal . Pirates can really pitch and the Cardinals have play well against the Cubs and I simply don’t like how the cubs lefties matchup with them .

    54-42 at the break is outstanding all things considered . Counsell has to be in the manager of the year conversation at this point along with the Marlins skipper . Basically when they play again two weeks away from the deadline . Hoyer needs to get busy and get 2 relievers and a SP
