  1. That play was a read option where it was: A: hand off to RB B: run it yourself C: shovel pass to TE (not sure if this was a legit option on this particular play call) So no true pass option like an RPO play. But like Kyle said and I've said it before, Trubisky just cannot read defense at all or lack the quick decision making thought process. He just goes with the quickest/easiest option like 99.5% of the time which makes him predictable and easy to figure out how to gameplan against him. It was very clear in the videos that he should've done B or C. I think he would've gotten the first down had he run it himself.
  2. Don't worry. It'll be 3 and out then a blocked punt.
  3. How the HELL did this team start out 5-1? That's what so insane to me.
  4. Not sure why the refs keep calling penalties on the Bears when it's apparent that they just flat out suck and can't stop the Saints. I know quite a few players are out of this game, but they need to tear down this team. It's not going anywhere the next couple years so trade whoever you can and fire basically everyone.
  5. He can't read those type of plays at all.
  6. I think the question now becomes is where do these guys rank in the Cubs prospect list?
  7. Yeah, but their defense can't stop Kamara from scoring.
  8. Is it just a straight pull or do you have a draw/fade with it?
  9. Not only that, but provide a solid base which promote better balance throughout the swing, help shift the weight on your back/down swing, and generate power. Yeah you want to hit hybrids like an iron where you're swinging down/attacking rather than "sweeping" the ball which is more suited for fairway woods. Kyle- don't be surprised if you hit like 15-20 yards further with the new driver right off the bat.
  10. I hope you'll be able to have the lessons. Will it be both you and your nephew getting lessons? Good luck! I was talking to my best friend who's an asst golf pro in your area and she was saying that her golf course (Los Serranos) is probably going to stop having lessons for at least 3 weeks. She said that it's not a definitely yes, but looks like it from reading between the lines from her boss. Also said there's a 50/50 chance that the course will be closed, but she doubts that'll happen. She's supposed to know sometime today from her boss.
  11. I've got some messages out to coaches in the area. Mostly for my nephew, but I'd like to take a handful to make sure I'm on the right path. I think the benefit of coaches is they see things you are doing wrong that you can't see. Yep. Also knowing what your strength/weakness are, your goals for golf, type of shot flight you want to have, etc. There's so much that a coach is looking at in a swing, then will start to implement his teaching/corrections/tweaks, and explain why they doing this/how this will help you, etc.
  12. I have the Cobra 3/4W and absolutely love it. I absolutely crush it (when I get it right). Apparently, you don't ski. No, but I do have custom-made $1300 ice hockey skates that I use to play replacement level defense in the second-lowest beer league level. I know how easy I give in to stuff like this. At least you're not the dumbass who bought a $200 bowling ball or $100 for a set of soft tip darts.
  13. Agreed. Just get a used brand name driver that fits your budget. As long it's not all scratched up or has a big dent in it, it'll most likely still have plenty left in the tank. This apply to all the clubs really with maybe the exception of wedges. Find some nice used set of clubs and play with them while figuring out your swing and getting more comfortable is the way to go. Once you get to that point and you still like the game to play like twice a week, then start thinking about getting new clubs/fitted/etc.
  14. If you really want to follow a golf coach on Instagram/Youtube/etc, check out Mike Bender. He's a top 10 coach in the US (Zach Johnson's coach) and he's really informative with his teaching. He has a lot of posts/videos on Instagram that if you're looking for a certain part of the swing, he has it and goes through the process.
  15. I feel ya. My natural swing is a 5-10 yard fade with my driver and 3 wood. Some days it can be a 10-20 yards fade. I can hit a straight flight with my irons pretty consistent or do the fade. Now, if you ask me to hit a slight or normal draw, I have a damn hard time to do it. I can hook the ball, but it bugs the crap out of me that I can't get that slight to normal draw flight down. Most of the time it's a straight ball (going right of fairway because I'm lining up for a draw so it looks like I pushed it) when I try to hit a draw so I'm not turning my wrist over at impact. I know what to do/how to do it mentally. Just got a hard time applying it as it's a timing issue. A lot of that has to do when I made my swing change a few years ago that I blocked myself from going left. I did that because I used to hit it everywhere and get in all sorts of trouble so I had to really simplify my swing down and stick with one flight. That way I can get really good with that swing and can adjust on the course with that flight. Now I need to get all the other shots down so I can use it whenever the shot calls for it. Only problem is that the nearest driving range for me is an hour away so I can't go work on hitting shots multiple times a week like I want to.
  16. Then Foles can come in as the back up for a guy they draft or sign. If they draft a guy, Foles would serve better as a starter/mentor then a back up I'd rather Mitch lights up the scoreboard, gets a new 1-2 year deal while dropping Foles (despite the cost) and still drafting a high-ceiling qb That is just awful.
  17. And yeah, definitely look at upgrading the shaft based on the data and go with it if it’s within the budget. It will make a difference. I got a whole new set of clubs ~18 months ago, Titleist TS3 drive and AP3 irons and the rep from Titleist who had me on track man recommended different shafts (project X on driver and Nippon N.S. Pro Modus 3 Tour on irons) than the stock ones. Definitely can see an improvement in my game and worth the up charge. Most of the drivers now will have 3-8 shafts that you try out for no up charge and somewhat the same for iron sets IIRC?
  18. If your budget is up to $400 go to a retailer or course with some sort of swing analysis tools/simulator/Track Man and a professional who knows their stuff. That’s a healthy budget to get you something to fit whatever the feedback says. I 2nd this. You can pretty much get any of last "year" model's for $400 or under plus you'll get the benefit of hitting all of them, see the numbers from the simulator, and having someone who knows what they're saying telling you what he would recommend. You also would be able to test out different shafts as well as they do make a difference. If you get a cheap enough driver, you might be able to get an upgraded shaft if it's something you want.
  19. Congrats! That's pretty sick. ...although, the only humble part about that was that you referred to it as a humble brag. Thanks! Very true on the humble part. I also know that my 0 handicap is very misleading as well. My home course is a 9 hole course (does have a back 9 where there's 6 tees that are separate from the front tees, but same greens). It's a 70.8/126 rating and almost 6500 yards if you play 18 so it's considered an "easy" course. This year with COVID, it was the only course I played on all year. Ended up with 3- 70s and a 69 this year which really brought my handicap down. Still cool to see/say that you're a 0 though. In the past, I would play other courses and usually from the tips. My scores/handicap would reflect on that. IIRC, I started out this year with a 2.5 index. I did tweak some things on my swing/stance/club setup which led me to be more consistent this year so looking forward to playing other courses next year and see where my handicap ends up. Not a bad set of clubs considering you never purchased a club in your life!
  20. This is a humble brag, but I don't care as it's an amazing achievement. Ever since my high school coach offered me the Jr High Golf coaching position 4 years ago, I told him and others that one of my goals for golf/coaching was to get down to a 0 handicap within 5 years. Almost all of them just laughed at me at the time as I was probably ~8-10 handicap then and said I would never get there. They're not laughing now.
  21. Curious to see what everyone have in their bag. Here's my set up now. 22. lol Anyone can build powerhouse programs who win multiple National Championships. But if you really want to cement your legacy you need to build a Michigan team who can beat Ohio State. Exactly, it’s the white whale of coaching Pfft... if you really want to cement your legacy, go somewhere like Wake Forest or Indiana and win a national championship.
  23. Decided to look up his stats since he's getting extended for somewhat decent $$. Figured he must be producing... I was wrong. 5 receptions/58 yards/2 TDs so far. 95% of that came this past week.
  24. Thank god. It was pretty brutal watching them the past couple years. One of the worst prepared teams I’ve ever seen. Week after week they couldn’t even run something as basic as a punt correctly. Purdue under Darrell Hazell (2013-2016) was just as bad, if not worse. The record might not show it at the end of the season, but like OMC said, Pittman really turn the culture of the program around and got the team prepared to play each week. I like what I seen from them so far.
  25. Thank god. It was pretty brutal watching them the past couple years.
